Contest History
Organization: INBF
Contest: 2009 INBF Monster Mash
Date: Nov 07, 2009
Location: Massachusetts, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 215 lb (97.7 kg)
Place: 3
Comments: NO DIET! Literally -- a walk-in competition. I was coaching a team -- The Drive -- and was there to support new athletes. Proudly, the team performed incredibly well, making my less0-than-stellar entry well worth it for me!
Organization: OCB
Contest: OCB NATURAL YANKEE CLASSIC
Date: Jul 25, 2009
Location: Massachusetts, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 205 lb (93.2 kg)
Place: 2
Comments: BEST POSER; Yes, this is the award I am ALWAYS seeking -- remember: THIS SPORT IS ABOUT PRESENTATION. It is ALWAYS an honor to be chosen as the one with the skills. I placed 2nd in the Heavyweight, and although I am always grateful, I heard utterances of "politics." in my favor . . . I think Cena, who placed first, was very deserving, but who knows how the calls were made, right? Either way, it was hands down one of the most rewarding competitive experiences, and it was amazing to have an audience so on my side in a competition. Truly a high point of my competitive career. THANKS FANS!!!
Organization: OCB

Location: Rhode Island, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 211 lb (95.9 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: BEST POSER, and 1st in the Men's Heavyweight. Keeping the rhythm, because "who would ever want to be king?"
Organization: INBA
Contest: ABA/INBA Silver & Black Muscle Classic
Date: May 02, 2009
Location: California, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 214 lb (97.3 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: Best Poser, Men's Novice Overall, Men's Open Heavy 3rd. I was intentionally not in top shape for this event -- this was a warmup contest in prep for other shows upcoming in 2009. Doing a few shows throughout my prep is a trick I use to dial in with more precision. As I have never done the ABA, I was eligible for the Men's Novice, in which i took the Overall Novice title. In the Men's Open I placed a respectable 3rd, which I was pleased with considering that I was not in best shape.
Organization: OCB
Contest: OCB CAPE COD NATURAL
Date: Oct 11, 2008
Location: Massachusetts, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 216 lb (98.2 kg)
Place: 7
Comments: HANDS DOWN the WORST performance at a contest I have ever put in. But I laughed the whole way through, so it was pretty much worth it.
Organization:
Contest: BLNPA Rhode Island Super Natural Bodybuilding Fitn
Date: Jun 28, 2008
Location: Rhode Island, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 223 lb (101.4 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: Added not; I also won best poser at this contest -- a recognition prize that means more and more to me than do irst place honors. I took a year off to build and to focus on coaching. At the time of this contest, I was coaching the team Epic, and they were all entering this contest along with many other athletes whom I had coached or consulted with in the past. Folks suggested I jump in, and I decided to. I was in VERY poor shape, but this was a small and local event. I did it more for fun and to get in there with my athletes than to win. Being a local summer show in a small league, the competitor quality was spotty, but the mood was phenomenal. I had a TERRIFIC time and it got me ready to REALLY start to ready myself for competition again. My bodybuilding sabatical theme song started rolling through my brains after this one . . . "this is the return of the Space Cowboy . . . "
Organization: INBF
Contest: Fulton's Fitness INBF Connecticut Championships
Date: Jun 16, 2007
Location: Connecticut, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 202 lb (91.8 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: TIED FOR OVERALL, as well as first place Heavyweight! Very pleased and grateful. Likewise. I was VERY proud to have received the Overall Best Poser award. There was actually ANOTHER TIE for that prize! (very rare for a Best Poser award). To win, I had to freestyle (old school! the way the sport was often ORIGINALLY done!). That tie-breaking process felt very meaningful as far as upholding the CRAFT of physique presentation (as opposed to just "memorizing a good routine" and getting a prize).
Organization:
Contest: MuscleMania Fitness Atlantic Championship
Date: Apr 28, 2007
Location: Connecticut, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 212 lb (96.4 kg)
Place: 5
Comments: En route to dieting for a June contest, this was one more spring contest I tested the waters with. I like to see where I am in the running by jumping in to local contests, and the competition here was intense. There was skepticism oin the authenticity of some of the "naturals", but either way a tough fight. I came in 5th, which even then was "on the bubble." This contest was a VERY good indicator of how much improvement I will need to get in top shape. But what was MOSt rewarding was competing with an old friend, his wife, a new athlete, and a fellow coach.
Organization: OCB
Contest: OCB Spirit of America
Date: Apr 21, 2007
Location: Massachusetts, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 214 lb (97.3 kg)
Place: 4
Comments: Not so much a heavyweight as a FATWEIGHT! En route to dieting for a June contest, I like to see where I am in the running by jumping in to local contests. Likewise, I was coaching a new athlete, so it was good to go into the contest along side of him. The competition was decent, so the 4th place was a good indicator of where I need to improve for my targeted competition.. A good "practice run". And my routine was hilarious, judging from the audience response.
Organization:
Contest: BLNPA New England Natural Bodybuilding Fitness &am
Date: Apr 14, 2007
Location: Massachusetts, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 218 lb (99.1 kg)
Place: 2
Comments: Not so much a heavyweight as a FATWEIGHT! Dieting for a June Contest, I wanted to see where I placed. This contest was VERY amateur, so was not the highest quality competition. Therefore, my placing is relative to who showed up, rather than that i was ahead of the game. A good "practice run" for the spring.

Date: Oct 22, 2006
Location: Massachusetts, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding

Comments: I "jumped in" to this contest. Literally. I was there to coach a few teams of athletes, and they all wanted me to jump in. It was a blast.

Bodyweight: 204 lb (92.7 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: Also won the Overall Men\'s Best poser award -- the one I was REALLY after. Oh yes, and it felt GREAT watching \"superman\" get all bitchy afterwards. I RARELY get into beating another, but it\'s always a guilty pleasure to see arrogance put in it\'s place . . .
