Since I was 10yrs old; boxing, martial arts and bodybuilding via different people were part of my life. Instead of committing to this path, I committed 20 years of my life to drugs & alcohol. Dropped out of school at 13 worked for builders becoming a house framer at 18 ( S.I., N.Y. 1 of the 5 boroughs). I was always physical by trade plus I rode road/mountain bikes and Dirt bikes, from 18 -29 I was 174-lbs 5% fat at 6'1". Quit cigarettes at 29 hit 224-lbs, quit alcohol, marijuana and drugs at 30 hit 260. At 31 I finally got with my uncle who was 38 and been Weight training since he was 16. I continue to evolve in a positive direction. At opening of BB site 233-lbs 16% bodyfat. I will work at losing body fat and building muscle naturally.
Why I Love It:
This is the high I searched 20 years for, while God placed numerous opportunities in my path, I refused to acknowledge them. This is Gods path for me and that is clear . I wasn't subjected to so many healthy people throughout my life for no reason. I simply refused to follow the path each time it was previously presented. This is what I was always meant to do.
How I Stay Motivated:
Once my mind locks in on an idea, just stand clear. Longevity is in my blood many in my family lived past 100. I continually strengthen my mind, body and spirit, Unless I die first I will be lifting when I am 110 that's just how it is. I will get my PhD in Social Work and teach college. I ain't running from you, I am running at you (Ice-T, O.G. 2000).
BB Accomplishments:
FINALLY I BEGAN at 30. Prior to this point I had smoked cigarettes & pot, drank alcohol and used drugs for 20 year. Despite that and no H.S. I managed a GED at 24 then, obtained an A.A. degree. It was at this point I got clean, started on obtaining a Bachelor of Social Work and picked up weight training.
Rise! Get up, stop thinking about it and start lifting.
Goal (Long):
To obtain the best physical stature possible for my body and maintain that body until it is my time to leave this world, to obtain my DSW and speak Norwegian. To teach my children especially and others who will listen the importance of our choices. I will be shredded very soon, this is a fact, the only thing that can stop me is death.
Bro. Love the last progress pic and the comment to go with it. I am with you 100%, only I'm digging out the abs as I gain; and it's all coming together. I LOVE IT!

Description: Incline Dumbbell flies, I noticed one arm drops lower then the other probably don't mater and I may need to drop the weight to do more reps only did 3-4. It should be noted that I was feeling weak today and am sure on another day same weight more reps. Did what I could need to be in the gym feeling weak is no excuse for slacking.
Why I like this video: I just like listening to Arnold and watching him he was the one who brought about my love for the sport, wish I would of listened sooner, he was my uncles idle growing up in the 70's.
My uncles only 8 years my senior; I had opportunities to start young, made bad choices, here now though and that's all that matters.
I haven't written a post in a while, I like to think that I have it together and all though I do in many ways, I know there is so much more I can do to improve. Despite the fact that I am a late starter and a slow gainer, it's the desire to push through and watch as things unfold and my...
Dave, thanks for the kind words. A pound of pure muscle every month is what I'm going for. Hope you're doing well. Pics look great. Keep up the great job - Gary
You really have to keep a firm hand on the 1/2 cup measuring scoop. Portion control is critical mass when you are making changes to diet on any level. I track the info on the label, meter out what a "serving" is accordingly and track the carbs/protein/fat grams in the over all meal plan. If you want to PM me your address, I can shoot you a copy of what I do so you can see how i works.
Hey Rassss ... that is what I eat every day with few ,if any, variations. Not sure about what the difference is between a plan and diet. I would guess this is more like a "plan."
Hey Dave, you're looking good and getting big. Awesome. I'm currently down to 5% bodyfat, lean, ripped and hard. Next week it's time to start getting big. Goal is to put on 15 lbs of rock hard muscle by December and maintain at 7% bodyfat.
