Background

When I Started: Apr 2011
HOW I STARTED:

I used to do it and have never reached my goal. So after gaining back 30 lbs of the 50 I lost in the last 2 years I am ready to put this yo-yo-ing aside and reach a healthy weight and uncover my muscles.

WHY I LOVE IT:

Lifting makes me feel strong and in control.

My Motivation Program

My trainer/friend and his wife who is also my friend. They are super motivating when I feel I don't have it within myself. I remind myself of a saying "We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them." -- which makes me think about how I want to feel at my next upcoming event, my next wedding anniversary, next summer, etc. - Do I want to feel happy and choose clothes I actually LIKE? Or do I want to feel like I normally do - just picking out something I am able to find that fits and wishing I had done something and feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. I choose NOW which way I want to feel THEN. If I want to feel happy and comfortable then I will workout and eat clean. If I want to feel sad, self-conscience, and like a blob then I will eat the crap everyone else around me is eating, making excuses for why I can't workout, etc. I decided now that every loss is another pound or more I won't have with me in 6 months. I have wasted so many years losing and stopping and gaining and losing and gaining . . . if I had only lost 1 lb a month instead of this yo-yo-ing I would surely already be at goal. This keeps me motivated - thinking about how sick I am of this, how angry I am with myself for the lame-ness, and how I want to feel and what I want to wear down the road.
