How I Started:
It started in high school to expel energy and stress. I used to do 200 sit ups a night, non stop-not anymore though (although I have not tried...) For a while I stopped working out, then in my last years of college-I worked out at the gym on campus-loved it. Now, I have been working out everyday at the local gym for about a year. I love it more than anything else in the world. So I guess I got started at home with some free weights, stationary bike, elliptical, treadmill and a punching bag. Now, I hit the gym.
Why I Love It:
I love going to the gym because everyone is there for the same reason (pretty much). I love lifting weights because I feel strong and powerful-I see my muscles taking shape and getting larger-I feel good and look good. I love cardiovascular activities (walking up a huge hill, speed walking, jogging, sprinting, biking, steppers, jump rope etc)because I imagine bad fat sizzling off my body while I'm engaged in it. Working out makes me feel closer to the very basic and primitive core of life, almost like a tiger (please excuse my cliche). Everyday I feel better about myself, I love the charge/high I get from my own progress.
How I Stay Motivated:
Motivation comes from within me. Always felt a need to become stronger than I am, get faster and work harder. I think about myself in the future and how making changes in eating habits and exercise today will keep me young (physically and mentally). I want to be the best I can be, for no one else-except myself.
I was doing a lot of cardio and not enough weight lifting, but I love my abs in this photo.
I can see what happens to my abs-after emotional eating. They were so much slimmer yesterday-but I got sad and ate fatty foods. Although it was a cheat day->I jumped out the window with that lol. ;)

Goal (Long):
I want to age gracefully, with as little health problems as possible. I want to combat fat, and make my muscles bigger and more defined (not too big). My focus is on the lower abdominal region, so I started jogging more. Also, I want my triceps to be more defined-there is some meat up there that has to be trimmed-I want to be able to do 20 dips (full body weight) and I want to be able to do pull ups. I use the assisted machine and can pull up 110 lbs of my own weight 8 times. I set mini goals daily, when I achieve them, I feel more confident. I want to live to see 100+ and along the way be able to do all of the activities I enjoy today.
Jamie inspires me to be a healthier woman, especially when it comes to eating right. For example, I cooked her meatloaf muffins they were delicious and what a great idea to put them in muffin tins! Adorable and easier portion control. Also, I love lifting weights and my goal is to look like I'm flexing-when relaxed-esp. my mid section.

No that is so sweet of you! I wish it were true though..lol I still a long ways to go especially in my legs and glutes. When I start my contest prep I will be counting everything single things that I eat and begin my diet. Not sure if I'm still going to go with Keto or Carb-cycling.
I'm good, how about you?! I'm trying to break through to the next level like you, but it seems like I'm just spinning my wheels in place...hopefully something take hold soon!
