When I Started:
How I Started:
Basically, as a dare. I was a powerlifter who got talked into doing a bodybuilding contest. I've always lifted weights and tried to keep as fit as i could, but that was the first time i had actually dieted and competeed.
Why I Love It:
I love being strong, i just like strength training in general. I guess for me its just something i have naturally gravitated towards and i have done since my late teens.
How I Stay Motivated:
Hmmmmmmm.........I'm actually having some motivation trouble now to be honest! The problem for me isn't building muscle, or even keeping relatively lean, its keeping really lean. I like to joke that i am the perfectly balanced ecto/meso/endomorph because in calories surplus, my body will building muscle easily and readily. However, in calorie deficit, my body's first response seems to be to chew off muscle before chewing off fat! Annoyingly, i can both gain and lose muscle much more readily then i seem to be able to lose bodyfat! grrr! :)
BB Accomplishments:
Second, WNBF novice short class. My first (and possibly only) competition

Goal (Long):
I've been thinking about this and really, i'm not sure what to put. Initially i had this listed as trying to stay ultra lean but more and more i am realising that I was enjoying life much more eating any old thing and being more sociable. I think if i had to list some goals it would be this:
i) To eat better then previously and keep relatively lean
ii) To train hard
iii) To have fun
As i listed earlier, i am truly more interested in physical strength then appearance, and honestly, even though i got ripped, i'm not that hung up on how i look provided i'm trying to keep strong and physically active at all times. As i think about this more and chose a definative direction, this section will change, but for now i'm not even sure i'll do another contest. Watch this space
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 5 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
2%

3 sets per exercise, 12 sets per bodypart. It just seems to work for me to keep my workouts brief and intense

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
normally 30 seconds, no more then 60 seconds. Keeping rest at a minimum allows you to get more cardiovascular and fat burning benefit IMO

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Bruce lee, by a mile. Honestly, to hell with arnold (weird coming from a bodybuilder i know). Bruce has the body that i want. Super lean, fast and totally functionally natural muscle mass.
I am starting to get tired of being hungry 24/7 and i am starting to get tired of feeling fatigued. Having spent the last 6 months eating cleaner then i have ever done in my entire life (by a mile) my body is STILL mutinying against me. I...
yeap that right i have enough energy my self i dont need supplement i just take normal amount of multivitamins when my body needs it.I am a sportsman i want to develop power and stamina so i dont need to bulk up for it.
hey there! Just an FYI ... getting off the friends list and using good old fashioned bookmarks/urls to keep track of your profile. How are things for you these days?
Whoah ! 17.5" arms cold ?! Dude, that is unbelievable for weighing less than 160lbs. Yeah,in my own egotistical way I like to see how I measure up against others. Since joining BodySpace this year I've started to learn how to really control the dimensions of my body. So I find reality checks by seeing similar physiques and knowing that I'm putting my efforts to good work. Don't think I hold a candle to yours yet, but I'm on my way. Thanks for the info. Cheers !
Hey, man.
Just curious as to what you measurements are. I can't believe you only weight 156 lbs even if you are shredded. Seems like you're rocking at least 17" guns.
Fill in the blanks, dude! ;-]
Cheers!
whats up dude, my name is jesus cendejas and i live in naples florida, i have been going to the gym for 1 year looking to gain muscle and loose fat, i have gained quite the muscle but i cant loose the fat in my belly, do u knnow how i can get rid of it, and loose some body fat, but im 18, thnx dude, and btw great physique
LOL -- I know what you mean! I am not a fan of cardio at all. Well, have a great rest of the year off. :) I've had to change my plan a bit because I'm working around 2 bulging disks in my neck, so I can't workout like I used to, can't lift the kind of weight that I used to. I'm starting to get settled in a new program that I'll stick with for the next couple of months, then revise. Take it easy!
