I have been an athlete since I was 5 yrs old. I played every sport I could! But at the age of 18, I was unlucky enough to develope an auto-immune neurological disease called Gullian-Barre syndrome. My health declined and I was paralyzed for almost 6 months. After hospitalized treatment and physical rehabilitation, I wasn't able to run, jump or play my sports, so I began lifting weights. I guess you could say, the rest is history!
Why I Love It:
Being active, working out and bodybuilding is a lifestyle! I have a rediculus amount of energy, and in order to spare the rest of society from being annoyed by my never ending figdeting or random dance breakdowns, I get some of that energy out in the gym!
Bodybuilding is a different story. Bodybuilding is a personal challenge. Every day, hour, minute, second you have to be sure you're making progress. For example, every meal has to be cooked, portioned, and ready to go and with you every 2-3 hours. You have to maintain cardio, training, and mental stability to the best of your abilities, or at least to the level you desire or strive for.
How I Stay Motivated:
I learned a lot when I was sick. I try to never take anything for granted. Even being able to walk is a gift and after not being able to, I realize how lucky I am to be able to compete! I also have an incredible support system. My boyfriend, friends, family, and clients are amazing people that expect alot out of me because I expect a lot out of them.
BB Accomplishments:
Stepping on stage in my first compeition exactly 1 year after I was released from physical rehabilitation after being paralyzed for 6 months.
My other accomplishment is having made my food and training a lifestyle. It's tough to maintain a healthy lifestyle 6-7 (pre-cooked/measured) meals, 2 gallons of water, train, work and still have freinds everyday.

Get my knee healthy and step on stage at 100%! I want my IFBB pro card.
Goal (Long):
I destroyed my knee, (torn ACL, miniscus, broken femur and tibis) last year and had sugergy to repair it. Since then, I've been playing on it a little to hard, a little too early. So, it's not recovered yet.
I have attempted to get on stage, but, my knee couldn't handle the cardio or training just yet. So, now, I'm taking it slow and I want to be 100% recovered and healthy before I get on stage again. I WILL win my IFBB Pro Card in the near future!

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
The funny thing is everyone can relate or have some comment about working out. You can meet strangers and strike up a conversation about working out, or lack of!
I have a great circle of supportive friends. My family understands the way I eat and no longer questions me about why I can't eat something or why I'm always eating. The funny thing is everyone can relate or have some comment about working out. How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you in your career?
Fitness IS my career! I found my clients can get as involved with my contests as I am!
While I was back home in Ohio, I was looking through old pictures. Lots of them, playing in the lake when I was 5, my first gymnastics city-wide meet, rugby tournaments, prom (I made a duct tape dress for a scholarship) and surprise parties. The pictures brought up memories and...
