When I Started:
Jul, 2007
How I Started:
I started because of the deterioration I saw in my body; especially the manner in which my personal composition affected my attitude, energy, and overall behavior…so I bought I treadmill, some freeweights, a bench…failed much…failed much more…failed again…and then started having some success…a good two or three decade stride is what I desire…
Why I Love It:
I love bodybuilding simply because of the complexity and simplicity of the human body: that is, because of the complex way the body stays alive and because of the simple principles one can apply when trying to shape, manipulate, or viscerally strain it...
How I Stay Motivated:
I try to maintain motivation by keeping my loves alive: family; work; sleep; waking; relaxing; nutrition; exercise; sports; cars; literature; music; photography; traveling; philosophy; theology...
BB Accomplishments:
I haven't any major accomplishments in bodybuilding...I don't desire to win any contests...I simply wish to live wholesomely; if anything, I hope that my strongest accomplishment can be consistency!!

Why I like this video: The Master at Work: Bruce’s unbelievable pace, tenacity, and fluid control of his body is what I like about this video….if bodybuilding is anything, it is the mastering of one’s own body: listening, modifying, feeding, sharpening…
My results were unexpected. In the past 30 days or so I’ve only lost 2 pounds on the scale. But I’ve gone from 17.3% body fat to 14.8% as of yesterday. So I’m not going to keep this setup for the time being.
My consistent average of losing 3 – 3.5 pounds a week is now closer to 2 – 2.5 but I’m not sure if that’s from the change in diet or the other 72 pounds I’m not carrying around all day. I started with the increased carbs again as of yesterday, I’ll let you know how it turns out in a few weeks.
