How I Started:
Been working out for a long time, but got started in powerlifting when my brother (who has been PL since 2004) took me to the gym with him in Jan 07. I loved it and started training a month later.
Why I Love It:
Powerlifting makes me feel amazing! It sets a great example for my children and I love lifting heavy!
How I Stay Motivated:
A passion for powerlifting... without a passion for it, it's a lot of work, with passion it's still a lot of work but it's FUN...

Over the course of the next couple years, my goal is to permanently move into the 67.5kg weight class. I train 6 days a week following my training program. I want to be able to fill out the 67.5kg weight class within 5 years and be competitive at a national level by spring 2011.

Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
rotator cuff injury lasted a few weeks from helping my eldest learn to ride a bike. Trigger Point Therapy fixed it quickly.

My sister is in Brooks. She just started going to the gym this year. I don't think she is powerlifting, just tring to firm and gain some strength.

Hi Telle, glad to see ya on BodySpace! There is a lot of great advice you can get here from other powerlifters and all! Its a really cool site. You should check out the forums too.
