When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
Growing up, I was always active. Played baseball for a lot of years and ran cross country. I had a physically demanding job, so that always helped stay trim and muscular.
In January 2002, I had a work accident and lost a lot of that muscle, due to inactivity for 7 months.
In 2003, I had a child later on that year. I gained a lot of weight. I went from 120lbs to 194lbs. I stayed that way for a long time.
In 2007 I lost some of the weight I had put on, but was still pretty gross. I finally got sick of looking that way and feeling like garbage. So, I joined a local gym.
Mostly thanks to my family support and self determination, I know my way around the gym, and am confident in it. I dropped all the weight that I had gained, and then some. Trading the fat off for some hot muscle and a ton of confidence that I never knew I had. Now it is a way of life and not just a goal any more. I live for this now and could not imagine my life with out it.
Why I Love It:
I love the way it makes me feel. I love the rush I get from lifting the weights and seeing how far I can push myself each time I work out. Wondering if I can do more than the last time. I love the improvements it has made to not only my body but my whole attitude in general. I feel like a whole new person now.
How I Stay Motivated:
How can you not? Seeing the changes that have occurred in the last year, I can't help but stay motivated all the time. Although I think that 'fat' pics I have on the fridge help when I go to reach for the ice cream and cookies, lol.
BB Accomplishments:
Aside from losing almost 80lbs, none yet. We'll see come 2010 if I have anything to post in this space :) Fingers crossed!!!

Goal (Long):
I want to tone and define my body. I am currently at my ideal size, just need to define it. I am hoping to compete in the figure competition in 2010 in Edmonton, Alberta. It will be my first competition, so it's going to be a huge learning experience that I look forward to.
Today was leg and ab day. I'm on the leg press with 360lbs plus whatever the bar itself weighs. Onto my second set and about half way through, some lady feels it necessary to interrupt me halfway through to tell me about push ups!? Why do people do that? Way to ruin a good set. Still...
Hey that's great your getting into a grove with it all, makes life easier...Training is going really good thanks! Have a flight booked for the Dec 1st south to do some training on the water, so pretty pumped about that and training extra hard ot be ready. Hope your week went great! TTL
Good to hear you are still planning on competeing out there. Things here are going good, training 6 days a week, had a hard time the last 2 weeks with being sick, but slowly getting back on track. 22 weeks to go!!!
Yeah, it's primarily a leg and back exercise but it really brings your hold body into play. I do them about every other week or so.
Personally, my fav day is chest and tri days. I love the pump from chest and tris!
Glad your workout went well : )
Well they felt good yesterday...I had lots of energy and was able to power through the heavy sets but I'm paying for it today! That's the thing about deadlifts...your entire body hurts afterwards!
Damn...just checked out your progress pics. You overcame alot of hurdles to get where you are now. The old you and the new you are night and day! You look great! Keep it up!
