When I Started:
Mar, 1999
How I Started:
When I was 14, gained about 50 pounds...didn't realize it until i was weighed at the Doctor's office. I was regularly 155 pounds at 5'9, clocked in at 213 pounds! I instantly started reading on fitness, changed my diet by cutting out foods like white bread/pasta and mayonnaise, and doing taebo at least 4 days a week. I developed a passion for fitness, and I have been hooked ever since.
Why I Love It:
Working out helps me relieve stress, and not to mention gives me a sense of accomplishment after every work out. I constantly challenge myself to see how far I can go and how much my body can do. The benefits of exercise helps me as a capoeirista, a dancer, and with my internal and external beauty. I also love being one of few girls that can hold my own in the weight room;)
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by writing a list of the reasons i need to be consistent with fitness, like my career, self-esteem, long-term health, etc. I also know that I hate the feeling of waking up after I missed a day of exercise, and the feeling of regret knowimg that I could have been one day closer to my goal. I also keep pics of ads/features of fitness women who reflect my ultimate goal. Whenever I feel that I am lacking motivation, I look at those pics.

Taken approximately September 15th. Time to make things happen.
After a month of off and on routines, this is what we get. Have been lifting heavy, about to see what a months of circuits can do to my body, and work on my four CONSECUTIVE weeks of 5 days of cardio.
Train hard and be consistent... If I don't do this show I will feel...Not doing this show is not an option!
Goal (Long):
I want to burn fat and increase lean body mass to be a more svelte personal trainer, better dancer, and better capoeirista. I also would like to use my height and physique for some fitness modeling.
So, about a month of my Goal Training has went by, and I know that i can do way better. I have had 5 weeks pass where one week i'll go in for five days of strict training, then the next week will be 3, next week 4, following week 2, etc. I have seen results, but the results are not as...
Training is going well. I think I had a 7 and 8 week out slump--tired and had to really kick my own butt to train. But I think I am getting my mojo back, quitting is just not an option. I got people in the audience, suits on the way, and shoes to break in. Today, I saw the difference a tan can make, so I am really excited. How are you? How is the training going for that March comnpetition?
Would the last couple of days happen to be low carb days? Man, I am carb cycling and doing 3 low days, followed by one hi-carb day--and on the low days (like today) all I can think about is cereal and oatmeal. We can do this! Have you ordered your suit, yet?
hey beautiful! things here are coming along! i am considering a show in November! The more i think and pray about it...the more i feel like i need to do it! good luck!!!! be blessed! :)
Yep. 10 circuits of 3-4 excercises. It usually takes me close to an hour. You are doing cardio during a second workout session 2-3 days per week? I think I need to up the cardio.
Okay--so we have got to keep each other on track so we can hit the stage in October looking fly! Right now, my PT has me doing 10 circuits of 3-4 exercises--a complete shock to my body. But it's doing something and has me hungry as heck! How about yourself?
damn mama! what a beautiful avi pic of you! you look smoooookin! how is the training. i quit it girl. i just couldn't do it and im so much happier now. i think it was just my gym location and the lack of good managment skills there. how is everything on your end!
Oh wee, 80 hours per week? When do you sleep? You inspire me in that you are able to keep such a hectic schedule and still stay dedicated to you fitness goals! Get it!
