Background
In the 90's I started reading bodybuilding magazines. It started out by reading the exercises in the mags, then it was seeing the beautiful models. In addition, to my cousin, Julie who has been in Musclemag over 100 times as well as featured in IronMan Magazine and Planet Muscle that inspired me to train harder. I have many guy friends who are competitive bodybuilders and have always had a passion for working out. My friends encouraged me to compete, saying I had the physique for Figure - so, after a little encouragement, homework, diligency, and training hard at the gym - I stepped up on stage and did a Figure Competition, got hooked and did a few more :-)
I have always been an active athlete in grade school through high school. After high school I joined a gym and found I thoroughly enjoy the endorphin rush I get from working out and became a dedicated gym rat. Due for my love for training - I have been fortunate enough to be featured in a nationally published magazine. Featured as an Amateur Over 40 Bodybuilder here on Bodybuilding.com as well as featured on several other bodybuilding sites. I hope to inspire women of all ages that it is never to late to pick up the weights and train.

Biggest Difficulty - Keeping the Weight on
Posted in Training : Mar 13, 2012 1:40pmTrying to keep the weight on...
Realizing that in the interim of training hard, my biggest hurdle has been keeping the weight on. I was blessed with amazing genetics, I never realized that keeping weight on was going to be one of my biggest issues during my training for a competition. At the initial start of my figure bodybuilding training I weighed in at 123 lbs in August 2006 - hoovering around 14% body fat. At my third competition(October 2007), I weighed in around 112 lbs - and my muscles looked thin - not the way you want to present yourse
