I lost 50 pounds two years ago and managed to keep it off. This was the next step and I finally got tired of making excuses. It is time to do this for ME!!!
Why I Love It:
Literally, my first thought every morning is...What workout is it today?? and then I count the hours until I get to go do MY THING....
How I Stay Motivated:
I love seeing the results...all of which are small at this point. But everytime I add a few pounds or do a few more reps at a higher weight or notice the smallest change in my body it gets me all GEEKED UP!!!
And I have an awesome workout partner who loves doing his THING as much as I do...we motivate each other!!
BB Accomplishments:
none...YET!!!!

...DO WORK CREW!!!
Goal (Long):
I started working out/weight lifting in April and I am hooked!!! I love it. I love the anticipation before my workout, the effort during my workouts, and the exhaustion after. I love setting goals for myself and knocking them down. I love challenging myself mentally and physically. I am hooked.
My workout partner...he gets me to the gym when I don't want to go, encourages me to lift more, more, more...and comments on the changes in my body that I just can't see yet but he does. Thanks LF!!!!
So today I had a great workout which included doing 3 sets of Partial Deadlifts....just worked the finishing portion from knees up using the squat rack. 3 sets of 12....135, 185, and then 200!!!! Yes...that's right. I pulled 200 pounds up 12 times!! STOKED!!! :)
Started a new workout last week. It is killer, for me anyway. Focus is on gaining strength and endurance….holy heck. (from the book 101 Workouts for Women)
Day one: Lower Body (All are 3 sets of 12 for first 5 weeks, then 9 for 4 weeks, then 6 for 2 weeks)
I know what you mean...I cut my calories so much early on, but at the thing that got me over some of my sticking points was actualy revving the calories back up. It's so strange now compared to a year ago....I eat so much more quantity of food...but now it's quality food and it makes such a difference. So what's the DO WORK CREW about??? I have seen that on lots of peoples signatures???
well I was in pretty horrible shape to begine with so it didn't take much to start seeing a change. No secrets...healthier food choices, learning portion controld, lots of steady state and HIIT cardio, and lifting. I think gaining control of my diet was the biggest factor.
Congrats to you to, 50 lbs - wow and you've kept it off for 2 yrs, me too. You look great, time for some cardio at home for me. Have a great Holiday. clc.
Hey T - How's the calorie counting business??? It's time-consuming but well worth it, after a while you can just run the numbers in your head. Let me know. clc.
I think that is so cool, my 5K wasn't real impressive, but it was fun running with my son, we're going to try and do some a few more this fall. How's everything else going? Anything new?
Hey, I think that is great, good job on the run....when I ran the 5K with my 13 yr old he smoked me, ran it in around 21 while I did manage a respectable 27. My 10 yr old daughter has been running too, she can hang for 2 miles, but that is about it. Are you guys back to school yet?
I agree with the scale thing, when I lost all my weight I never used it. Now, 2 yrs later, I weigh myself every morning, just to see if there is a trend one way or another as I change food, drink and exercise. Do you eat good fat, I just added more and am getting good results...flax seeds, avacado etc. clc.
