"I'M TRYING TO GAIN HEIGHT. I WANT TO MAKE IT TO 5 FOOT!
(Can I get a woot, woot!)"
Personal Info And Background:

45

American Bodyworks

Hiram, Ga.
When I Started:
How I Started:
I got started working out when I was trying to overcome depression and low self-esteem. I am a TOTAL introvert (believe it or not). Going to the gym was the only outlet for me to socialize. I'm very shy and have a hard time communicating. It seems like I would workout harder the more shy or awkward I felt. So my shyness has manifested itself in my physique through my workout. I am ready to come out of my shell a little bit, but I am still very shy and unsure of myself.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because seeing the results of hard effort and dedication is such an awesome reward and confidence booster. Also, I don't have much of a social life and it gets me out of the house!! Honest to God, I've GOT to get a life outside of the gym.
How I Stay Motivated:
A regular workout routine reduces stress, clears the mind, builds endurance and gives me that look of a winner!
Seeing the gains and not wanting to let any of that go to waste is a huge benefit as well. Also, I have issues with low self-esteem and working out is one way that, not only balances all areas of my life, but helps me to stay in touch with a positive mental attitude! I am just crazy in love with staying fit.
BB Accomplishments:
Slowly but surely I am building a new body image. One that I am able to be proud of instead of hiding. So often, I would hide my figure to shield myself of the unwanted attention from men and the evil eyes of women. Now I am able to embrace who I am and enjoy my size and shape irregardless of who is affected by it and how.

The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential... these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.
I am about to start a training/nutrition program so I wanted to document the progress.
100 lbs and 20.5% bodyfat/training for Masters...if I don't chicken out (Super Chicken..bok, bok)
Ok so I chickened out of the April 7th show because I stalled with my bodyfat loss. At 108 lbs, I am continuing to gain muscle mass and keeping my bodyfat around 17-18%. I am working on a new training program with the October SNBF show as my goal.
I'M TRYING TO GAIN HEIGHT. I WANT TO MAKE IT TO 5 FOOT!
(Can I get a woot, woot!)
Goal (Long):
I figure if I hang from the chin-up bar for about 10 minutes a day, five days a week or so, that might give me the 1.5 inches that I lack being 5 foot!
OK, so that's my "short" goal...Obviously I'm just kidding around about gaining height. I am actually very comfortable being me at any height/weight.
I want to get into competition shape even though I will most likely chicken out. I dieted down and have already gained another 3-4 lbs in LBM. I have about 22% body fat and am looking to drop it to be competition ready at 10%, while maintaining muscle, this means losing around 15 lbs. That seems like an extreme amount to me but I've done the math and unless I've gotten bogus bodyfat information, that's how it works out.
Incorporating 30 minutes of cardio at the end of each workout should bring this about very easily. I need to get some calipers in order to get a better reading on my BF% to see where I'm at.
What supplements do you take immediately after your workout? Why?
Protein Shake immediately after workout along with some L-Glutamine. About 30-45 minutes following a workout I eat a substantial meal, chicken, sweet potatoes, steamed veggies
Now that I have a routine in place, I need to put together my nutrition plan so that I stay on track. Knowing the caloric and macronutrient needs for my BMR is critical to achieve my muscle building goals while maintaining, and losing body fat.
feel better today but i will take to whole two week off and hit my leg twice a week plus extra cardio. Need to pay close attention to my diet don't want to gain any back.
Hey! Glad to hear that you had a good weekend. Mine was pretty good too. My goals are coming along pretty good. Ive lost about 18 pounds in the last 12 weeks. Now im going on a bulk cycle to try and put on more muscle. I met Jamie at the Fit Expo in LA in feb, she is so nice!

Stopping by again to see how your training is going. I have gained a few unwanted lbs, from my birthday celebration but hope to shed them soon. Still working out hard and canging my eating after my workouts.
hey marlene, have you done a show yet?? i know in one of your fab pix you wrote you chicken out?? honey your body is smoking you should definitly compete..
I read the article that you attached and realized that is a lot of calories and food within 3 hours after workout. Do you stick to that plan or do you vary?
