My mom and I got a gym membership when I was about 16. I have been working out inconsistently ever since then.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel so better much both mentally and physically. It's my stress reliever.
How I Stay Motivated:
Just knowing that some of the health issues I have will get a lot worst if I don't workout.
BB Accomplishments:
May 18,2008, I have my pre-surgery physique back! The pictures in my gallery were taken a week before my surgery. June 7, 2007 I had a pituitary tumor removed. During my recovery period I put on about 20lbs ballooning up to 170lbs. I lost the 1st 10lbs with little or no effort once my hormones was brought back into balance. In January I started back working out at home using free weights and Tae Bo for cardio. March I started eating clean and eased my way back into the gym. Now I'm back to my normal thick self. Actually I think I'm a little stronger and my aerobic capacity is greater than before the surgery.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me and when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
30-45 seconds or the time it takes to get to the next machine. To keep heart rate elevated and increase fat burning

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
Right now I do 12-15 reps. Because I'm back on a low-carb diet I usually have to drop the weight down a little increase reps so I can try to maintain or increase my normal workout volume.

Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
When I 1st started working out I did not know or understand how to set the range of motion on the pec deck machine. I injured the ligaments and tendons in my right shoulder. It seemed like years before my shoulder was back to normal. I avoided those types of machines and did dumbbell flyes instead. When I 1st started working out I did not know or understand how to set the range of motion on the pec deck machine. The truth of the matter is that there's nothing you can't accomplish if: (1) You clearly decide what it is that you're absolutely committed to achieving, (2) You're willing to take massive action, (3) You notice what's working or not, and (4) You continue to change your approach until you achieve what you want, using whatever life gives you along the way.
