When I Started:
Jun, 2000
How I Started:
My next door neighbor is a big dude. Hes built that way. When i was a kid he and his wife were always around and one day i saw his copy of Arnold's Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding. He let me borrow it, i later got my own copy and since then i've been lifting. Though its been off and on.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel healthy. I love feeling strong and fast and weight training has always given me that feeling.
How I Stay Motivated:
Its hard for me because I'm in college and involved in the college life (partying). That doesn't hinder my exercise, however studying and crap food do. My gym going has suffered big time the last couple of years and i want to get back into it by remembering how much better i feel about my overall health and appearance when im physically active.
BB Accomplishments:
Nothing much.
Most i ever benched was 325 but that was before i went to college. Deadlift around the same time 350 or so, i wrestled in high school and suffered a back injury that took a lot of time and chiropractic help to fix. Can't remember squat but it wasn't a full rep max so whats it worth?
Get down to a healthy weight and improve my overall look.
Goal (Long):
I wrestled in high school and learned how to lose weight fast and keep it off. Yeah right. I learned how to starve myself and run myself ragged to get down to weight and fight to keep it down all season. The lowest i ever got was 173, i was aiming for 171 weight class but injured my back early on in the season. Didnt know what the hell it was until a month or so of intense pain and no help from my doctor led me to the chiropractor. At least an 80% improvement on the first treatment, i could even walk without stopping every 30 yards. Anyway enough of that, the point is i never learned how to diet the proper way and i feel its a good possibility i did damage to my system by losing it in such a way. So shortly after i started college, im now 20 and going on my junior year at Cal State Long Beach, and from then on my exercise sucked. I ate like crap all the time, and i rarely exercised. I now weigh 235, i was up to 245, the heaviest i've ever been (EVER) and i still feel like a porker. Ive been able to go to the gym a lot this summer and i feel like its going to be easier to focus on my health this coming school year. I'm hoping Bodyspace will help me stay focused and even more on advise from anyone out there who can help me with my nutrition. The college budget is a small one which leads to fast food, hopefully someone out there can help me find a way to work my budget into healthy food instead of fast food. Thats all for now.

Thought you should all know ive been in the gym for the last month, four days of lifting, one or two of cardio a week, im down 10 pounds but mostly because ive only been taking in about 1500 to 2000 calories a day. I have the problem of dieting to lose and working out to gain, but so far it...
The next show is 5 weeks from tomorrow. The Natural USA's down in L.A., then 8 weeks after that is the Natural Olympia in Greece. I'm psyched! Pics to follow. Keep truckin' bro!
ps. There is relatively healthy fast food, you just ahve to look for it! Also, too much tuna a week puts mercury in your system. No more than 3 cans a week is recommended for any length of time.
