trained for one semester at as a freshmen in highschool for football...1st time touching weights.. i bench pressed 225 weighing in at 135 lbs..my junoir year i got serious......i bench pressed 345 lbs, deadlifted 445 lbs, curled 135 lbs and power clean 275 lbs at teh bodyweight of 165 lbs...the powerlifters in my gym stirred me to compete in a powerlifting meet...i took 1st place teen state championships....then was qualified for teen nationals which i also competed in and won 1st place agian...i was a national champion by senoir year in high school also considered pound for pouund the strongest teen in in cali
Why I Love It:
i love working out because its the best test of physical and mental strength...going to the gym each day going to war with urself.. to improve and surprass what your previous lifts is a great feeling..i mean..why settle for mediocre or average...life is all about progress ...everything that you can control is what u can improve...and i say powerlifting and bodybuilding is the bext example for umlimited progress...the better u get...the more u can strive to improve ..the road getting there is just as fun as the destination achieved
How I Stay Motivated:
it gets really tough somtimes....with school...relationships..family..freinds. ..etc.....but i guess it all comes down to myseld and my previous achievements..i would have never thought one day i was just a little small kid with lack of confidence...to now..a state and nationakl powerlifting champion all in just 2 years...the better i get...the more i get stronger..bigger..and leaner...it helps me know i can always continue to do so....and also i want to represent for the asian community because honestly...from my persepctive.. there arnt many asian bodybuilders and powerlifters....due to the fact that our genetics arent well suited for strength and physique..but hey! i proved to myself and others that it can be changed...which goes back to why i love bodybuilding? haha
BB Accomplishments:
my biggest accomplishment is winning the teen world bench press championships just 4 weeks ago, with only 3 competitions under my belt druge free//// i bench pressed 350 lbs and deadlifted 480 lbs in the 148 pound weight class

Thanks for the add Mike.....Congrats on recent championship and many many more to come in Powerlifting and BBing. Have every reason to be proud of all you've accomplished so far. Andre
MIKE,
another killer session this evening. Hell, when Onn Basson, one of the strongest men in the world, gives you a compliment like "He's gonna be stronger than me" - you kinda listen, huh? I'm super proud of you, Natural Wonder.
the first year was on and off for me but this year was the one for me! i spilled blood for it this month so its been crazy here. >=) train hard and train smart and let's get on representin!!! later!
Hey Myke:
Congrats on the 4th place finish in April 07. I am stationed over in Germany with the US Army. I started a new dietary/training regimen and I am sure it will work. U yourself have the great potential to compete in the pro ranks so use the local NPC California promoters to help get more experience. Look to see U as a pro.Peace
Tim
U did something 99% of men in world will never do, train your A++off, get on a stage and place very well for first time. U gave your best and that's all anyone can ask. AND like you said, WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR. We'll be watching. Andre
Regrets on the reversal in the scoring. I didn't catch it, and we look for such things and go back to the judges to be sure. Problem is that Novice go on stage an hour, or even two, after the Open -- which is enough time for bodies to change, and therefore placements. But you're good! Hope we see you again soon.
