How I Stay Motivated:
Talking to other lifters, hopes of one day competing, compliments, feeling healthy in general is enough motivation alone.
BB Accomplishments:
probably benching in the 300's when I weighed 167. I've always been strong for my bodyweight.
"we do what we do because we must. We do what we do to survive. The rest of the world just lifts f***ing weights… "
Goal (Long):
From day one I was always amazed by the "big numbers" heavy bodyweight, heavy weight, just heavy period.
My short term goal is to bench 450+ @ 21 yrs old. my b day is may 3 so we'll see this year.
As well as break my old deadlift & squat records.
Nice! Doing that much raw is great! Try using chalk for your grip. I swear by it now. Anything over 405 I chalk up and I haven't had one problem with grip. Wish I could've used it in Longboat Key instead of the straps on the 495 lifts...
Thanks for the comments on the DL pic. Everything else has been going great. Football is in full swing and we look decent so far. I'm up to 246 but with football I'll burn some of the fat off. Keep your diet in check and you'll keep gaining. Sounds like you're doing great so far!
I pulled 565 for a single today! New PR for me. There's a raw meet here in Lakeland in October if you're interested. It's about an 8 hour drive, but I think you could do some damage. Let me know how your doing...
down to 190lb on the rugular and my training intensity is through the roof. if i go any harder ill pass out. feels good tho i got three weeks left until i hit mass for 8weeks... you?
Sounds like you've put a decent program together. I'm glad those sites helped. Yeah, I've read the 'Bench 500lbs' article before, too. Lot of good stuff there, but I'm still pretty far out from that. Keep me posted on how you're doing.
Glad to hear you're making progress! Did those websites help? As you know, eating is key. I'm up to 245 now - hopefully gaining lean mass. Yeah, the PL way of benching is different, but once you get your form down, you'll be pushing more weight than ever. Work on your weak point (triceps); do heavy floor presses and lockouts. Trust me, they help. Keep up the great work!
It was awesome to train with you, Chad. You've got a good head on your shoulders and you know what you want out of training. Keep at it and you'll be a dominate force in the powerlifting comps you enter.
WOW! Great pictures and an even better profile. What you wrote shows you clearly a complete man (brains and brawn). I especially liked your "Why I Love It" Thanks for posting!
Excellent! Taking that many pills (11 in Pak) can be tough. After a while you'll be downing 'em like their nothing. The Nitro is great for keeping a positive nitrogen balance during a training session so I take one just before my warm-up sets. Keep your diet in check and keep up the intensity!
I'm glad it's working for you. Yeah, I hate pushing/pulling the light weight but you'll notice a difference next week when you go heavy again. Delayed gratification, I guess...
