When I Started:
Apr, 2003
How I Started:
I went through my sophomore year of high school at 5'9'' and 220lbs. After the death of my grandfather, I vowed to get myself healthy. By the first day of junior year, I was down to 150lbs, a difference of 70lbs with a good amount of added muscle.
Why I Love It:
I was pretty much hooked after the looks I got that first day of junior year when I actually looked good. It gave me a whole new life.
How I Stay Motivated:
I always feel like the fat kid. I know I'm not, but that feeling never really goes away. I've wanted my perfect body all my life, and I'm not there yet.

I want to lean out to the point where I feel comfortable removing my shirt...anywhere.
Goal (Long):
I used to be fat, and even though I do not have a dramatic amount of bodyfat anymore, I still have enough that the "fat kid" feeling inside me comes back often. My ultimate goal is to get down to 8-10% bodyfat, while maintaining a bodyweight of 170-180lbs. I hope to be at that point within 3 months.
I will be starting this particular routine on Tuesday, 7/1. I would have like to start it on Monday, but scheduling issues have pushed it back a day. I have followed a similar routine for quite a while now, keeping with low-volume, HIT style, though the exercises, days, and split vary from time...
Good luck with your goals. To put on mass quickly, I'd suggest right now focusing on heavy compound movements -- squats, barbell rows, deadlifts, etc. And intensity is key, heavy weights and high reps! I've found that, for example, my arms generally grow best via heavy pulling movements like from deadlifts, rows -- and even shrugs, where you just hold a heavy weight.
