As an overweight teen on a mission to lose weight, I cut out junk food and started walking regularly. One day I saw a documentary on teen bodybuilders on The Learning Channel, and curious, I Googled "bodybuilding". Bodybuilding.com was the first search result and I've been hooked ever since!
Why I Love It:
I love fitness because it's you vs. yourself. I love the challenge and the tug of war between body and mind.
How I Stay Motivated:
I am constantly looking for new challenges- I die a little inside if I don't have a goal to work on. I like to think about how my "perfect" life would be, and envision it to every detail- what I would look like, how I would dress, how happy I would feel- until I can picture it so clearly that I start to map out a plan of how to attain it!
BB Accomplishments:
Taking control of my life and health, dropping 80 pounds and going from fat girl to fitness model!

After taking two years off, I got pretty pudgy. This photo was taken one week after I began lifting weights again (I had taken 3 months off completely) My arms are pretty meaty, but I didn't lose as much muscle as expected!
After fracturing both legs in December 2005, I have been sidelined for the last two years. Now, physically and mentally ready to get back up on the fitness horse, I'm ready to whip myself back into competition shape. See you at the shows!
Howdy all! Everyone enjoying the fine May weather?? (I love spring, it's such a beautiful and exciting time of year as the weather warms up and we all start thinking about summer fun!) A coworker of mine rushed into the office last week and rhymed, "hey hey, it's the first of May-...
Hey Stephanie,
How your training coming along? I see from your progress pic's that your making progress right on! Are you looking into the morror more often than the scale? :) I hope so cause your transfermation is looking awesome. Keep up the great work!
Well thank you very much! I think visible abs are mostly a result of a clean diet, but I train them with resistance just like any other muscle group. In my opinion doing anything without resistance is a waste of energy. But you look great! I don't think you need to lose any more weight. Your arms look fantastic! Keep up the great work.
It's all good.........no need to sweat it. I'm great!!! Finally got back to upper body after tearing a chunk out of my finger a few weeks ago. If you get the chance check out my new pictures from a hike last weekend.
