When I Started:
Apr, 2004
How I Started:
One day when I was 19 my best friend had brought me to the gym on a guest past. After a very light work out, I felt every muscle in my body ache. I realized I was very out of shape.
I joined the gym and starting going 5 days a week, only I didn't know what I was doing and thought that I could eat more now that I was working out. I gained weight and not mostly in muscle!! I was very dissapointed to see that things weren't coming out the way I wanted. So I started to educate myself on how to train. Once I saw my results it became a passion.
Why I Love It:
I love the feel good endorphins that flow through my veins after a good workout! I like seeing the results that my dedication brings me. It's great being a strong female in a place of grunting and sweaty men who think the gym is for them only.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing the women that are in the fitness magazine. When I feel like I want to quite for a while and sit down with some Ben and Jerry's I just go to Alicia Marie's website and that snaps me right out of it!
BB Accomplishments:
Getting my lets super strong and being able to squat more than the average man.
Whenever I check out women's profiles and other women at the gym, the ones that look the best are alway over 30. They look so defined it's amazing!! I'm 24 and I lift pretty hard but am having such a hard time seeing definition or making good gains. Is it impossible because of my age? Or do I...
