I started for weightloss only. Knew nothing about training. Met a female at my gym that had the body i wanted. Started training with her. She taught me alot. She should have competed her body was amazing. She was my first mentor. Moved to Las Vegas shortly after, then LA where i trained at the Venice Golds Gym so you already know I felt right at home there. Met quite a few pro and amauter competitors and learned even more training tips. But is wasd not until I moved back to NYC that I took competing more seriously.
Why I Love It:
I feel Alive when I train and I appreciate the soarness, the nutritional plan, the lactic acid burn, the cardiovascular endurance challenges, The flexibility and strength drills. I am a student everyday and I love learning how to make it better, stronger, leaner, faster and more dynamic.
How I Stay Motivated:
As a Dancer/Choreographer and teacher of my own signature Hip Hop class, i come across many dancers that take their bodies for granted. So I teach them how to strength train, stretch properly, nutritional tips and injury prevention.
Also, when i look at my before and after pics it still amazes me how far I have come. Everything in my life before this point was toxic. Not only physically, but mentally and spiritually. It was a goal I reached that competely changed my life and saved my life.
BB Accomplishments:
METS 2005 NYC 2nd place Figure C class
Kim Kline 2006 NYC 1st place Figure C class

Success is not measured by the position you have reached in life, but the obstacles you overcome to get there.
first Figure competition. The METS in NYC. Diet was not good. No Muscle Maturity. About 135lbs and 13% BodyFat. But was a good start. I learned from that experience.
Kim Kline First Place Figure. Much more improvements. My diet was much tigher, felt so much better, more confidence since I stepped it up in the gym for this show. I have decided to switch over to fitness and use my dance/choreography skills.
When I was in High School I remember watching the Fitness America competition on ESPN. It was so amazing to me to watch these beautiful women do such amazing moves with their bodies. I was so intimadated. In my heart I wanted to do this show, but I stopped myself mentally (as most of us do or have done in our lifetime). I thought I couldn't do it. It was too hard, how would I start, I dont look like that, who would help me, I cant afford it, I dont know gymnastics, I am not a cheerleader etc, etc, etc.
Then one year I saw this one competitor dance to hip hop and she did some locking, popping and breaking (which is what i teach). So I was immediately attracted to the thought of fulfilling this goal, but i also knew I needed to get on the ball with my training and building some muscle. Everytime I saw a woman with muscle, either in person, magazines or TV I would get chills looking at her body. Muscle is beautiful and amazing work to attain. But it was not until I graduated college that I pursued it and hired a trainer... The rest is history and I am here to stay. This is for a lifetime and not just to pass the time.
