Background

When I Started: Dec 2005
HOW I STARTED:

Dec 2005 I was miserable, weighed 305 pounds, was on 4 different blood pressure meds and a CPAP machine to make me breath at night because I was so fat. I was 46% body fat and my waist was 50 inches. I'm almost 48 years old and figured I had one last chance or I would die before 60. I started on medifast and lost 42 pounds in the first month. Now, 14 months later, I'm 200 pounds, 12% body fat and waist is 32 inches. I plan to try and get more cut and get down to at least 10% body fat.

WHY I LOVE IT:

It changed my life.

My Workout Program

I do one body part a day. Day 1 is arms, 4 sets each for bi's and tri's, as much weight as i can get 8-10 reps out of. Day 2 is legs, again 4 sets each for quads, hams and calves, same on reps. Day 3 is chest, day 4 back, day 5 shoulders, then one or two days off. I do abs about every other day and 30 min of cardio at the end of each workout on either Stairmaster or Elliptical. I use this program because I'm an old man, (almost 48) and this gives me plenty of recovery time between body parts. Eating clean and every 2-3 hours is the real secret.

My Motivation Program

I look at my before pictures where I weighed 305 pounds. Also just looking at my progress in the mirror, feeling how my clothes fit. Also it's incredible the respect you get from people when you're ripped and weigh 200 pounds as opposed to being a fat worthless slob at 305 pounds.

Wow! Brian is such an inspiration to me. I viewed his success story on the Medifast website. I read his success story every day for a week. The testimony was too close to home for me as tears filled my eyes daily. I have viewed his progress pictures on this site. Brian is truly an inspiration and a hero.

guest Brian, Awesome job! Your transformation is impressive. I know how you felt, I have a machine that helps me breathe at night. I'm in my late forties (47) and I'm morbidly obese. I need to lose approximately(60-70)lbs to put me at a healthy weight. Any suggestions for someone who's where you used to be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John Jul 6, 2008 11:30pm

stachedwalker Now that summer's over, are you going to focus at staying in the shape you currently are or will you go for the bulking phase that many people do? You've got a boatload of muscle as it is, so the goal to get bigger might not be there. Sep 23, 2007 5:28pm
