When I Started:
Aug, 2007
How I Started:
Started a membership at the YM/YWCA in my home town about April of 2006 and only used it a few months before allowing other aspects of my life to get in the way. Continued to pay for a membership I wasn't using until I began to realize, through constant flare ups of my arthritis and recurring illness, how little attention I've paid to my personal well-being in recent years, and how important it was that this become a new priority in my life.
Why I Love It:
The sense of accomplishment I feel as I meet each new short term goal and sense of well being I feel from doing something that's just for me and no one else.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have an arthritis condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis where a couple of the vertebra in my lower spine have begun to fuse together - the result of trama from a car accident several years back. So for me, my main motivation is to maintain my mobility, health and physical strength as long as possible. My family is my other big focus. Knowing that if I keep up what I've started in 10 years time I'll be playing sports with my children instead of watching from the stands in a wheelchair is more than enough reason to stay on track and constantly work towards acheiving and maintaining my peak physical condition.

Goal (Long):
It's my goal by my next birthday to reduce my body fat to 10% or less, my weight to between 185-190lbs and to add several inches to my chest and arms, minimizing the strain I presently place on back. I want see some nice definition in my shoulders and legs, those nice vein lines in my biceps and thighs and to see a decent start (at least) to a well shaped six-pack.
Hey gang. It's been a while since I've taken the time to complete one of these things. Generally when I've been on I prefer to just update my tracker, respond to messages send a few new ones out and get on with my evening but I think today I'm gonna take a bit more time and provide an...
In order to meet my body fat, muscular development and stamina goals, my workouts consist of a full body work over each day I go in - which I am doing 4-5 days per week, generally 2 workout days followed by one rest day.
I do my cardio in the middle - after a bulking session and before a...
