When I Started:
Oct, 2007
How I Started:
I got started a little over a year ago. I felt ugly and disgusting and realized I needed to get on the path to a healthy lifestyle, for my self esteem and confidence as well. I was in the process of revamping my life and this was at the top of the list so I joined a gym, starting educating myself on fitness and nutrition, and signed up on here at the beginning of the year after after advice from a friend so I could talk, exchange ideas, and tips and gain more insight! I took a few month hiatus from this site to take care of some things but I am back on to keep growing more in knowledge and have missed all my friends who have helped me, and cannot wait to see the progress ya'll have made!
Why I Love It:
I never thought that I would get to a point where I would actually like sweating my ass off in a gym and watching what i ate...but it has started to come natural. Despite the fact that I am no where in solid shape just yet, I have become quite the gym rat. I love hitting the gym after a hard day and let any frusteration or stress fuel me. It gives me time to think and it leaves me feeling awesome. I do like to have excursions from the gym and will work out at home, go swimming, hiking, anything outdoors when I can to take advantage of the fresh air and weather. I love being outdoors and trying new things, be it extreme sports or any adrenaline rush to get that blood boiling!
How I Stay Motivated:
How do I stay motivated?! I have found that next to my writing, working out is the next best thing to venting frusteration, stress, etc. I love the burn and exhileration after having my ass kicked or kicking it myself. I love when I notice something fits a little better, and that my once non-existent self esteem has risen a bit. I also stay motivated by the sad materialism of the world... For all the guys who disregard you because you do not fit into the cookie cutter army of "hot" or the shallow minds of my gender who send catty remarks your way because you don't look like Barbie....that motivates that hell outta me to possess a good body on top of my good heart, mind, and personality.
BB Accomplishments:
I have lost almost 40 lbs since my start and in pursuit of New Year's goals even if I will be spending it alone...atleast there will be less of me!! LOL

What is your favorite cardiovascular exercise? Why?
I like walking on the treadmill or using the eliptical when at the gym. Outside of that, dancing at the clubs for about 4 hours is quite awesome cardio and so is hiking on saturday mornings :)I like to mix it up and try new things.I like walking on the treadmill or using the eliptical when at the gym. What is your cardio exercise plan?
I do the treadmill at 15.0 incline at 3.5-4.0 speed for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening on weekdays. I do the same thing 30 minutes on a saturday and 30 minutes on a sunday.

Do you monitor your heart rate while doing cardio?
I am reaching out for information on the Keto diet, to those who have been on it, are on it, or have information on it or want to offer advice. I am 5'7, 158 at the moment and 24% body fat at the moment and want to get on keto diet to burn fat and slim down/cut along with my strength...
I do cardio 6 days a week and strength training every other day since i started a month ago....going to the clubs and dancing till dawn is a great way to work the body as well...and its fun- no doubt lol.
You do also from what I can tell. I love your first pic, but those are always my favs. lol. Good luck on the new year workout grind and thank you very very much.

As far as training you can do cardio everyday, 5-6 times a week. And you can split body parts as you wish. I do back/shoulders, chest/tri's, and legs/bi's. And then you switch it up as time goes by. For abs you can do 10 minutes every day you train. It's hard to over train abs so I wouldn't worry about it. Does this help? Oh yeah, if you can swim it will help so much with fat loss. You don't have to be a pro, as long as you are moving your arms and legs and get from one end to the other.
Ahh well let's see. The diet that worked for me in the past was high in protein, low carbs and very low in fat. It will be tough because not eating carbs as much always hurts. I ate a lot of tuna, chicken, fat free yogurt, fat free milk, apples, pears... You get the idea. Eat every 2-3 hours, small meals. So say breakfast would be a glass of milk and a oatmeal. Then 2-3 hours later i had an apple and a yogurt. So that's what a "small meal" would be.
Thank you so much. You look incredible! What kind of questions do you have? I was trying to send you a private message but I didn't find it anywhere on your page.
