When I Started:
Feb, 2008
How I Started:
How did I get started? well, in Febrary of this year (2008) I went to my doctor for my yearly physical.
He told me that at 262 pounds that I was overweight (duh), and I had high cholesterol, 357 total to be exact, he also said that because of my age (42), my weight and family medical history that I was a perfect candidate for a heart attack and/or a stroke.
Oh, and I can't forget that I was on the verge of Adult Onset Type II Diabetes.
That all scared the hell out of me.
Well, it comes as no suprise that I took off work the next day, searched out a few healthclubs and decided on one near my house.
I have also hired a personal trainer and a dietician to help.
I will be damn if I let this beat me.
You see, I have an Irish hereitage and I was born a Texan, so, it was predetermined before birth that I would be stubborn :)
So in a word, my motivation is fear and being so damn stubborn.
Why I Love It:
I have been working out for only 6 months and I have already lost 36 pounds, I have come down 6 pant sizes and I'm loving it.
How I Stay Motivated:
I want to be healthier.
I refuse to be an obese invalid.
Especially when I can prevent it.
BB Accomplishments:
So far, I'm just happy with the weight that I have lost so far. Once I reach my goal then I will concentrate on maybe putting on some lean mass.

Attitude is everything, maintain a good attitude and you can accomplish anything.
This will never happen again. I took these pics because I was starting a new diet plan, which failed. This will never happen again. I will never weigh 262 pounds again.....unless it's all muscle, and then I would be smiling every day.
I once made the comment that I would sell my family to the gypsies in order to have a muscular body, but that would not be very nice, after all, the gypsies never did anything to me.
LOL
In this pic I weigh 224.
38 pounds lost in 6 months, I'll take it any day.
To be 175 pounds, lean and less than 10% body fat.

Goal (Long):
I want to lose that 34 pounds of fat and put back on, hopefully, 10 to 15 pounds of muscle. I know its a long shot, but, all I have is time and determination.
I will update this as things change.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 24 lb
Bodyfat Goal:

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
I don't rest any longer than 1 to 2 minutes, usually only 1 minute.

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
I do 20 reps on each circuit machine, because I am still trying to lose weight. Once I reach my ideal lean body mass and start to bulk up, the I will reduce it 8 to 10 reps in order to build muscle.

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
That's easy, Jay Cutler, hands down.
He has the looks, the personality and oviously the body to die for.
Okay, so I wanted to be 200 pounds and 10% body fat. Well, my doctors have all decided to change my mind on that goal. My medical doctor talked with my cadiologist and my nutritionist. They tell me that I can not weigh 220 pounds even with 10% body fat, not with my families medical history. In...

Thanks for the add... Yeah, losing 100 lbs was a pretty amazing feat. Especially after all the failed attempts over the years. The difference? Setting small goals and acheiving them. I still have 60 more to go. The battle now is against the people who tell me I'd be 'too thin'.
