I went to a gym to gain some shape on what was a skinny body. I took to weights like a duck to water. Soon as my body started to reshape I was hooked.
Why I Love It:
The gym is my sanctuary, away from the narrow minded and judgemental. I set my goals and challenge myself. I do it at my own pace and don't have to answer to anyone who doesn't or can't be bothered to understand the value in resistance training and ones own goals.
How I Stay Motivated:
Hahaha, the fear of looking like the millions who don't give a shyte about themselves. No, honestly, I love looking great for my age, in fact I'm in better condition now than I was 15 years ago. I love competing as it opens me up to my flaws which creates new goals to improve them. I like being outside the square, too many miserable people disrespecting each other on the inside.

2007 saw my transformation from womens physique to figure class1. The results were great 2 x 2nd, a 1st and overall.
2008 saw me back at the NABBA Southern Hemisphere for a 3rd placing in June. Then is was on to the NABBA Worlds held in Greece for another 3rd. September, I retained my Overall NABBA Queensland and then winning the Overall NABBA Australia. I was then over to the UK for the NABBA Universe. A trip of cancelled flights, lost luggage and load of stress, but I still placed 8th.
So the goal now is to go back to the UK and with a better planned trip, do the NABBA Universe again in 2009.
