How I Started:
I startd lifting weights in my teens. My school had a weight room. I loved it right away because I was stronger than all the boys!!!
Why I Love It:
I love working out, it keeps me saine. I loved running, it was such a great high. Now I am focussing on bodybuilding as a way to sculpt a shape and look that I am after. How cool is it to use your own flesh and bone as an artistic medium.
How I Stay Motivated:
Keeping fit is my job. I look at it that way. My husband goes to work, I go to the gym. My health is my main focus. If I don't use it, I will loose it.

A bit out of shape after the move. No gym for three months. Aprx 175lbs.
My goal is to compete this fall and qualify for the provincials.
Goal (Long):
I was diagnosed two years ago with Multiple Sclerosis. I had to stop running and give up many of the things I really loved in life. In the last two years I have discovered that when my illness lands me in bed I have two choices, stay there, or get up and fight. Bodybuilding helps me fight off this disease and set and achieve goals for myself. The choice to compete is my way of using what I have been given in a positive way. MS is brutal, but the ability to monitor my diet, exercise and health everyday, and pace myself as needed, will help me in my fight to stay healthy and happy.
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
I workout in the morning and I treat it as my job, so before I hit the gym, I go to the coffee shop next door and read the paper, drink a black cup of joe, and chit chat with the locals. Then I head off to workout. Getting the workout overwith early in the day leaves little room for excuses, and provides me with more rest/recovery time later on. hey.. thanks.. and thanks for the tip about workout tracker.. i should've put some stats on it earlier to track my progress.. but it's never too late eh. You have a great story and the courage and strength to succeed in whatever goal is in front of you. Fighting through disease or illness and still making the progress you have makes your victories that much sweeter!
