Background

When I Started: Sep 2003
HOW I STARTED:

I used to figure skate competitively, and once I quit was looking for something to keep me in shape. Weight lifting fit the bill perfectly.

WHY I LOVE IT:

The greatest reason would probably be stress relief, but feeling a sense of accomplishment as you can lift more and more weight is definitely rewarding.

Basically just set small goals for myself, but I find more than a few days away and I'm antsy to get back, so staying motivated has never been too much of an issue for me. I love it!

guest I ready your article on six pack abs but it still did not answer the question whether or not abs need a rest day. I do 720 crunches a day in various forms throughout the day (3x300 crunches w/ 25lb weight, 3x300 leg ups with leg weights, 3x300 hanging leg raises). I usually do either 6 days on and 1 day off, or 2 days on then 1 day off. Should I be resting every other day? Is there any harm in doing ab workouts that often? Thanks Aaron Nov 30, 2010 11:19pm
