I used to figure skate competitively, and once I quit was looking for something to keep me in shape. Weight lifting fit the bill perfectly.
Why I Love It:
The greatest reason would probably be stress relief, but feeling a sense of accomplishment as you can lift more and more weight is definitely rewarding.
How I Stay Motivated:
Basically just set small goals for myself, but I find more than a few days away and I'm antsy to get back, so staying motivated has never been too much of an issue for me. I love it!
My main goal right now is to focus on getting stronger and add a few more pounds of muscle to my frame.
Goal (Long):
Ideally I'd like to get to about 125 pounds and maintain the same level of body fat that I'm currently at. I like to stay looking a little more feminine though, so adding a large volume of muscle mass has never been a goal of mine.
I also want to always focus on staying active and healthy as life goes on as I firmly believe it greatly affects your quality of life in the later years.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 10 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
12%
