How I Started:
Rachel McLish is who really got me interested in wanting to learn about body building, but I never did anything to create that kind of physique.
I was always active and athletic, so I never worried about what I ate.
I let myself go for a while after I graduated college. Continuing to eat crap, not exercising as much as I used to, plus, being a graphic artist sitting at a computer for 9 hours a day did a great job at helping me gain 20 pounds. I got into shape off and on over the years, but was never consistent. After I had my 3 kids, I wanted my body back, and I wanted to fulfill a dream I had which was to compete in a triathlon. I trained for 6 months and I competed. So, after realizing I could accomplish something like that, I have the confidence to accomplish the other dream I've always had which is to have a lean and defined physique.

12/08 I did 500 REAL pushups in 1 hour 45 minutes (next goal is to beat time).

Not only do I think of him as one of my best friends on this site, but he's been a mentor to me as well. He's stuck by me from day 1. He inspires me to put in 100% for every workout with his encouraging words. His workouts make me want to see what results are around the corner at the end of each month. He's the real deal!

Shame on me. I just noticed your progress pictures. Excellent work, you had me worried for a while, but you've come roaring back. Look in top form again. The next set of progress pictures should have you looking better than you ever have in your whole life (Not to put any undue pressure on you :)).
Thanks for the blog comment Shannon. The teamwork aspect of our relationship does work well. We have trouble like everyone else, but I'm continually amazed at how we work at working it out. I wish I'd met KP earlier in my life.
LOL. That's a reference to the movie Taxi Driver when Travis Bickle (Robert Deniro) takes the gun and puts it to Harvey Kietel's gut and says "Suck on this" and bang! When I take the weights off the squat rack I think to myself "You guys out there wanna' take this Wilhelmina thing from me? Suck on this!" And I proceed to bring the f-cking heat. Wham, wham, wham. Pain. That's the story.

Yes, I tried it. When you tried it did you use the good raw organic honey? Regular honey has NO nutritional value. Simple, elegant, sophisticated. It is simply the best sweet thing I have ever tasted in my life. Better than any cookie, cake, belgiun chocolate or even my favorite, creme brulee. An instant classic. This Thanksgiving I'm serving up cheese and fruits with various exotic balsamic vinegars for dessert. I'm definitely including the Ryvita, ghee, honey combo.
Lol Shan, I am getting nauseated thinking about it! Actually I was just telling another friend on here that my chest is the weakest area on my body. Tonight I worked chest and it was an amazing workout, I had so much fun..BUT..for some reason when I work chest, I get dizzy and nauseated. Well it is a Chest/Arms workout. That workout kicks my butt!! :P ~Missy
