How I Started:
Rachel McLish is who really got me interested in wanting to learn about body building, but I never did anything to create that kind of physique.
I was always active and athletic, so I never worried about what I ate.
I let myself go for a while after I graduated college. Continuing to eat crap, not exercising as much as I used to, plus, being a graphic artist sitting at a computer for 9 hours a day did a great job at helping me gain 20 pounds. I got into shape off and on over the years, but was never consistent. After I had my 3 kids, I wanted my body back, and I wanted to fulfill a dream I had which was to compete in a triathlon. I trained for 6 months and I competed. So, after realizing I could accomplish something like that, I have the confidence to accomplish the other dream I've always had which is to have a lean and defined physique.

Lil Miss FP inspired way long ago back when I first joined here. She whispered in my ear "Do another triathlon" and I said NO WAY. But that whisper stayed with me and seeing how she ran and ran, the inspiration kept building to where maybe, just maybe, I'll do another race. Maybe a duathlon is a good compromise.

Ok, did the Hell Week walking lunges this morning - 900 of them. Took 23 minutes. It wasn't as debilitating as I thought it would be, but I'm already feeling it right after doing it...
My Brazilian (head hair not pubic) should be good for another two months. Eyebrows will need another shaping between now and then but are good for tomorrow. For the chest I'll stick with the tried and true Gillette mac 3. LOL.
I've had mine Halle Berry short before too. Which wouldn't have been bad if I hadn't been 45 pounds overweight!! That is NOT a good look when you have added poundage! :-)
I almost told my stylist that I was going to be wimpy and cut a little tiny bit off at a time, but figured I should suck it up and get the damaged stuff off so I could start with healthy hair.
It's a good thing I have a sassy attitude, cause I need it to pull this look off! :-)

Thanks for asking. Hell no! I spent 25 years presenting adverting to hostile clients where ONE bad meeting could cost you your job. The way I look at it is I am now in the best shape of my life. Anything after that is gravy (Fat free of course). I can't wait to have chicken cutlet Parmesan (Oh Jesus, I shouldn't have said that...Oh, my stomach!)and baked Barilla plus ziti tomorrow (No...Grilled veal chops... No...Homemade salmon pizza...No...I...I can't decide).

Uggggghhhh... I'm having a "tight jeans" day! I accidentally put on a pair of my daughter jeans (which is kind of nice in a way, but after eating breakfast, snack, and lunch they are uncomfortable) :-(
Very nice! :) My day has been ok, just ran to the store (as usual) while my daughter had school. I have to get my son into the dr since he can't seem to get rid of his cold. I called them earlier this week b/c I KNOW he has a sinus infection and needs an antibiotic...but they said to give it time. It has already been 2 f-ing weeks! Poor guy...so finally they want to see him. Grrrr. Annoyed. But oh well.
Ok, found your blogs from March - that was your last Hell Week? Didn't seem like that long ago. Perhaps I'll try a mock-run of the squats and lunges tomorrow morning instead of my normal leg workout, and see if my legs are anywhere close to being able to do that...
When is your next Hell Week planned for? I'll have to dig back through your blog to see what exercises you did. If I recall you had a day for each of: push-ups, pull-ups, squats, lunges, and something else? Hmph, senility is in full swing here.
