I first got started weight training when I was a kid. I had been injured and could not participate in regular "PT" classes. So they put me in this new curriculum called weight lifting. I really was good at it and became very strong.
Why I Love It:
I like the challenge and it works well for me. Also the bodybuilding business is a big part of my professional photography business. I travel the country photographing major bodybuilding competitions, I shoot the advertising you see in the magazines, and I photograph a lot of additional content and projects for BodyBuilding.com.
How I Stay Motivated:
Lifting is very fun for me and a good mental release. In the last couple of years I have been traveling so very much and working so very had that it has been difficult to be consistent. I have been better lately about at least getting on a treadmill and with eating habits. To stay motivated I really only have to look at all of you!
BB Accomplishments:
Earning the respect of a lot of the younger guys at my gym and hearing things like I hope I can be like you when I get to be your age. Seriously. I don't give up, I worked my way up to 405 lb bench, squats, back rows and deadlifts. And 100 lb dumbell curls. I had put on some good size and was pretty trim with a 32 waist.

I am up around 225 and looking to trim back down at least 35 pounds. But more than that I really am working to get back to being more consistent in getting to the gym and working out. I am changing around some of my work schedule amd plans just to make sure that happens. I used to be very consistent working out at least 5 days per week and I truly just enjoy it.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 35 lb

Hercules in New York Trailer
Played: 615
Why I like this video: Arnold's career, especially in the motion picture business, started with "Hercules In New York". This movie was mean't to be serious and dramatic but it is so very bad that it is very funny and has become a cult favorite. I talked to Arnold briefly at Muscle Beach Venice a couple of months ago and he really got a smile on his face and had nothing but good to say when we talked about the director of "Hercules" and the movie. This movie was his start and actually figures in to my personal life and has something to do with me being here in this business today.
Jean-Pierre Fux
Played: 1,734
Why I like this video: Jean-Pierre Fux has faded from the scene but was truly one of the amazing figures in the sport. The guy was huge and rivaled Ronnie and everyone else at the time. Sadly a very serious injury doing very heavy squats during a photo shoot took him out of competition. I know JP and it is sad to say that he still walks with a limp. But he retains a lot of size and is very impressive. He works as a trainer and is still very involved in the sport. Just click on the image to watch it.
It is that time again for another bodybuilding and figure competition at "Muscle Beach" at world famous Venice Beach California. July 4th is the Mr. and Ms. Muscle Beach show and it is always fun. So if you are around and want a lot of fun for the day, head out to Muscle Beach! And...
You forgot to send my pics Ian? So I see you have been really busy the last few weeks.....I love the new pics you put up on your blog, you still are the best in the game.
Poor baby! I'm in a hotel in Houston right now. Just left a show...but next week I get to go to New York! Woo Hoo! So, I won't whine so much that you are on a beach!
Hey! Toronto was great! Best shape of my life! Now, to MAINTAIN and get thru the move to California....
Hope all is well in your world and you aren't working too hard!
