How I Started:
I got a membership with some friends and did cardio mostly. They were flaky about going so I gave up trying to coordinate times with them and just went for myself. I started lifting weights regularly soon after.
Why I Love It:
Weight lifting is really fun, and it's cool to see the weight go up. Cardio.. sucks. Unless it's biking and can only do that for half the year.
How I Stay Motivated:
Health is important to me - it's not hard to do something you enjoy. Weight lifting is a way of life for me now - now if I can get cardio to stick like that as well! Also looking through the transformations and bodyspace profiles assist me in staying focused on what I'd like to achieve.
Well it seems I've hit a plateau. I've been hovering between 148 and 150 - up and down up and down. My body really doesn't seem to want to leave the 50's. Too bad.

Another big thing to concentrate on is a quick carbohydrate uptake within one hour after working out along with the protein. 1-2 tablespoons of honey usually does a good job. It makes the protein more effective.
I don't know in my book woodwork would be it...actually once I get some free time and get my head clear I intend to see if I can brush up my skills and start making some furniture.
