Lose 20 lbs by New Year. Have lost 10 lbs so far. Looking to lose 5 more by August. Trading fat for muscle to naturally lose inches (body fat % too) while gaining strength.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Numerous small/short-term attainable goals. The more the better to show progress. Make sure you don't dilute the milestones by making nonsensical expectations. Some weeks can be tough, wish you the best in getting back at it this week. I have made it 25 days eating clean without a cheat, which I have never done before and I am training hard keeping the reps between 6-10 for now, have a great day.

Don't rush it for sure, we know we are not invincible, got to listen to the body. I just finished a 10x10 program last week and checking my 1 RM on some lifts this week. Take care.
I'm trying! It's not so much taking care of a one year old that's the struggle, it's everything else! Regular workouts right now have been hard because I am studying for my finals and we are trying to move, but with all the work we have been doing in our new house I am at least doing something active everyday.
