I have been working out off and on for years.

I love it when I can lift more than someone expects me to -- I love to feel strong and a little competitive.
How I Stay Motivated:
Hmmm -- good question -- I'm working on that now and will have to get back to you. After a long "sabatical" and gaining another 30 lbs I'm not exactly the authority on "staying motivated".
