I played volleyball in high school, and got very muscular legs. I then only preferred to lift weights focusing on lower body. I would work out pretty consistently, but not ever increasing weight. Then I started doing bikini contests like Darque Tan, and Swimsuit USA, and that motivated me to try harder and do real bikini/fitness competitions. I won 2nd place at my first competition in the Branch Warren Bikini B division. I wanted to compete again but I needed to reevaluate my diet and work out routine. I was negatively obsessed with how I ate and decided I should focus on long term goals, not immediate results (which by the way, don't happen) haha
Why I Love It:
It gives me a high and so much energy. I love being able to wear anything. I also love when people compliment my legs, or notice how in shape I am.
How I Stay Motivated:
My boyfriend keeps me motivated because he works out constantly, and always eats clean food. I also like looking in the mirror and seeing muscle definition.
BB Accomplishments:
2nd place in Bikini B at the Branch Warren Comp. in 2009
Okay I didnt want to put this pic on here because I am so embarrassed by the cellulite on the back of my legs and butt, But we have to start somewhere!
My original goal was to compete and place this year (2009), and I accomplished that! It was a small competition, but who cares, I got 2nd!!
Now, I am going to continue to increase my weights/ lift more to really build a good foundation for next year's competitions. That way, when its time to prepare I just have to diet and lean out. I want to become a certified personal trainer by 2010, and eventually, after building my reputation and client base, open my own gym and spa.
What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
I try to stick with clean foods, meaning food that is not highly processed and usually is located on the outer aisles of the grocery stores. That is where the vegetables, fruit, dairy and meats are located. I eat cereal, high in fiber, oatmeal or egg whites in the morning. On cardio days, I eat after I run. Then after my workout, I have a protein shake. For lunch I stick to a lean meat, such as chicken, turkey or tuna, with a lot of vegetables. Dinner is usually consists of the same, but with maybe some bread, like a spinach tortilla, or wheat bread. I stay away from desserts, candy, fried and fast food. For a late night snack, (I work late), I usually eat cereal, or a cup of yogurt with granola, or fruit.I try to stick with clean foods, meaning food that is not highly processed and usually is located on the outer aisles of the grocery stores. What supplements do you take immediately after your workout? Why?
Syntha-6 protein shake, I have to mix it with milk, because the water hurts my stomach
I am having the most trouble sticking to my diet. Everyday, I know what I should eat, but end up eating something I later regret, or binge, or try and tell myself it is okay. How do you really stick to a diet of eggwhites, brown rice, chicken and some veggies?
