When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
I got started as an athlete in high school playing football and wrestling. After football ended, I wanted to stay in shape and fell in love with bodybuilding. I played rugby for fun on the side in high school and then in college. I started interning with Texas Tech University's Strength and Conditioning Program and have fallen in love with over all fitness, bodybuilding, powerlifting and athlete/sport specific training.
Why I Love It:
I love how you can get lost in the gym and see your transformation with your body and the amount of weight you can move. I love the pain in the gym and the sorness that happens after it. The sweat, blood and tears that you put into yourself regardless of what your friends say. I love doing things that the average person couldn't even try if they wanted to. I just love it all!!
How I Stay Motivated:
I set goals for myself. I have pictures of people's bodies that I want to obtain. I keep a workout journal and see my progression. I constantly look in the mirror and want to change things, even if minor and I love seeing the transformation in the gym and just personally. I watch bodybuilding videos, powerlifting videos, and sport clips to really get motivated. The movie "300" also helps.

Thanks for your comment on my blog I appreciate the info. I had been lifting anywhere from 3-8 reps for about 5 months and just decided to try this to maybe "shock" my system a little.
