My uncle is a former Mr. Wyoming and Mr. Southern California. For a brief time after he exited the U.S. Navy, he lived with my family in Wyoming. My father, his brother, built a gym for him in one of the back rooms of our house and he gave me basic instruction during that time. I suppose I was about 13 years old.
Why I Love It:
Working out and staying in shape has always been a part of my life, though I have gone through stages of varying levels of dedication and motivation, depending on other factors in my life at the time.
How I Stay Motivated:
Progress itself motivates. So do set backs, in their own way. I won't go silently in middle age with the hopeless acceptance of a growing midsection and atrophied muscles that so many do. I'm kicking and screaming all the way.

Actually taken same day as the other torso shot - just wanted them to diplay for critiques. My major issue with this one is lack of sweep in my tricep.
At 38, I'mstarting to feel the aches and pains of life in the Marine Corps. Couple thatwith daily muscle soreness, and well... sometime I just want to hang it up. The work you've done and the commitment I KNOW it takes, has led you to a very tangible set of rewards.
BB.com, Arnold's Encylopedia, M&F or Flex... but never, EVER from my favorite mag, Men's Health - that's the one area I think that magazine falls flat on its face every month. Switched to the 5X5 program because I felt like I needed flexibility, consistency and simplicity. This program seems to include it all. I'm pretty much sticking to the 3-day option laid out in Mike Mahler's article on this website with a few very minor tweaks to suit my personal needs. Check...
Whoa!!! All joking aside now. Just say the reference to you ortho apt. Forgot about that. Hey, good luck--though I'm not much of a luck-man. (Gee, there's gotta be a comeback in there somewhere... if you'd get that monkey off your head, so you could think!)
Hey, look at that! Yet ANOTHER monkey shot. He He. Ever hear about "getting this monkey off my back"? Look out 250. Bet it'll be in the next week, Mike. You'll need the extra strength to chase jr. around on his new bike!
Minor--more like "finishing" than renovation. Built it myself (well, mostly!) 8 years ago. Some walls still have only primer. Some were drying out. No baseboards, interior doors--stuff like that. I was told to not move in unless everything was done. I now know why! Your boy will be excited, no doubt. Those are special memories for you and the missus. Be well, buddy.
Not much new. Still have 2 months of my leave left; trying to finish my house. Training is okay. Nothing much to report. Snow coming tonight. General stuff. You? Your kids are getting hyped for Xmas?
unlee the monkey tells ya what happen ,or tells jokes I would be tripping a little [LoL] make it home safe ! I'm off to the gym to workout some new workouts
Hidden comments. Well, a buddy on here gave me a heads-up about personal info that could be used incorrectly. Nothing more than that. Maybe I should be more trusting, but ....
