When I Started:
Apr, 2008
How I Started:
I've been working out off and on since 2000, but in 2007 - when I turned 40 - I finally decided to make a change once and for all. I got tired of making excuses.
Why I Love It:
I like that I'm inspiring others around me, while I'm continually being inspired by others as well. The biggest plus is that I'm a lot healthier this year than last year, and taking better care of yourself is it's own reward.
How I Stay Motivated:
I continue to picture myself how I want to look and I won't stop until that picture is reality. I also come to BB.com daily to look for any new and helpful information, like Kris Gethin's "12-Week Video Trainer".
BB Accomplishments:
Lost 30 pounds and counting!!! My goal is to get to 209.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
30 seconds - 1 minute. I'm trying to keep myself at a certain pace, and also to keep my heart rate up. Main reason - I don't like being in the gym long.

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
My sets vary. I normally do 12, 10, 8, 6, 12, 12 (the last two are supersets). It's mainly because of the programing I'm follwing.

Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Shoulder strain. Injury didn't last long, so I just backed off using heavy weight or by-passed shoulder exercises altogether until I felt 100%.
Heya Steven, stick with it man and keep focused on your goals! I was right there where you are now about a year and a half ago. Watch your intake and exercise with a purpose at each session and I'm so sure you'll reach your goals in no time! Best of success!
The eating part can be the most difficult but once it becomes a routine it is amazing what it does. I look forward to watching your progress and if I can be of any assistance feel free to give me a yell. I would like nothing more than to see you achieve your fitness goals and/or dreams.
I see you are following the Body for Life program and I just dropped by to wish you success. My wife (bodyspace: judimax) and I both achieved our body transformations by following the Body for Life program. We are cheering you on and believe you can make your fitness dreams come true. Feel free to give me a yell if I can be of any assistance.
