Honestly - I started going to the gym to see this guy that I thought was really cute...he practically lived at the gym. Eventually the guy phased out of the picture and fitness became an avid interest, especially when I started seeing changes in my body (weight loss, toning, increased capacity for cardio, etc). I was inspired by fitness personalities such as Monica Brant, Valerie Waguman, Gina Aliotti and others...I loved the strong lean, cut curvatures and I wanted the same for myself. It's amazing when you can sculpt your body in almost any way you like!! ( I wanna round out my delts....or I am gonna work on an apple bum....or I think I need a V-taper..)
Why I Love It:
I love to sweat, I love the pump, I love the rush...The gym is the place I go when I need to get away from it all and release frustration - and I always leaving feeling 10 times better than I did before. I love seeing my body transform...I absolutely love testing my limits...I get excited about setting and surpassing goals I set out for myself...Where I come from (Trinidad) and where I live currently (St.Catharines/ Mississauga, Canada), there aren't many women who are into the bodybuilding scenario. There's a certain feeling of pride I get walking into a weight room dominated by bulky males...and not feeling one ounce of intimidation. Because of my training - my confidence level has sky rocketed....
***definition of Vain: having or showing undue or excessive pride in one's appearance or achievements...
Taking this into consideration, I suppose I can be called vain...but I worked hard to get where I am today, and I am proud of my achievements...regardless of other people's opinions of whether or not it might be excessively so...
How I Stay Motivated:
Well...it's not about motivation anymore - its an absolute obsesion. If I miss a day of training (not including off days) - I feel frustrated, guilthy, miserable and lethargic...Training is certainly a way of life and living.
BB Accomplishments:
Dropping from 190lbs to 140lbs.
Significantly increasing my muscle mass.

SENGARIchanged Overall Goal: "Looking forward to my next competition. My mind is set on getting a pro card next year...."
Looking forward to my next competition. My mind is set on getting a pro card next year...
Goal (Long):
My long term goal is obviously to keep fit and healthy. I'd like to round out my glutes... I need to work on my endurance so that one day I can take the initiative and run a 25k marathon. Considering that when I started off - I couldn't run 5 minutes on the treadmill at 5.2 without becoming quite breathless, and now being able to run over half an hour on a 2% incline at 6.8, I think I've come a very long way. My rolemodels are strong, powerful, assertive, independant, intelligent women - therefore to complement my strength of mind, I'd like my body to reflect that as well.

I've been a fan of bodybuilding for a long time...but it isn't until now that I decided to compete and have the first hand experience of prepping, that I fully appreciate what these athletes have to endure while maintaining the balance with the rest of their normal lifestyle... I'm doing...
