It was around July 2004 that a co-worker sparked again my interest in working out. In the beginning I was on high protein ~ low carb diet (I wanted to lose fat). Well, my performance in the gym was awful. I couldn't lift much weight and it was very frustrating (of course!: Where the hell were the carbs? Da** fad diets!). Since then I have learned more about fitness, NUTRITION and embrace all bodybuilding-related info around (and still learning!). I got hooked and will never stop.
Why I Love It:
It helps keeping yourself healthy: physically and mentally. It's a great stress reliever. Love the PUMP!

What Rod_Solo Is Up To:
Jun 20, 2009
Rod_Solo changed Weight from 172.2 lbs. to 173.6 lbs., a 1.4 lb. gain in 2 days - 12:45 pm - Comment
Today (3/7/07) I went to the gym and had my body fat (BF) % measured. Dear reader, my BF% is exactly the same as 5 weeks ago (please refer to blog entry below ~ 2/2/08). So, what is going on? What have I changed lately?
Oh no way! I definitely eat before training. Keep in mind I am cutting, but here's generally what I have on days I train 1st thing in the AM... I get up at 6:20 am... drink 1/2 scoop whey w/ skim milk, eat a banana... go to the bathroom... drink 1 scoop of NO Explode... drive to the gym, and by the time I start workin out it has been ~60 min since I ate. Perfect. The food is starting to be digested, and is ready to get circulated in the blood to the working muscles as I train :)
Nice! Beat those abs, rear delts, calves, and forearms up, Rod =) Ahh... how I miss a weekly cheat meal... 13 more weeks to go! Then it's back to "normal" eating. I do have a pancake once/week, so I guess that's kind of a cheat meal... I don't count it as one, but I think it does help me w/ additional dessert type cravings :)
Thanks, bruh =) "The Brick" LOL... just Joe :) Have a good workout, man! What are ya training? I did legs already - bright and early... actually it wasn't too bright at 6 am when I got up :(
Thanks man! I wrote that paragraph almost 2 years ago and have thought about deleting/editing it but said to hell with it. Came from the heart and Ill leave it up. Looking solid yourself! 'Lotta thickness
Don't cut drastically. 1 lb loss/week... that's it... No more, and the only LBM you'll lose is water which comes right back. Ya gotta cut right and smart though. None of this Keto crap. Read this: http://www.naturalbodybuilding events. com/articles/Macro-Rotation-fo r-Prolonged-Fat-Loss.html
That's a lot of work, man! I also am wary of that sort of approach to be one where you're just spinning wheels. I mean, when you are new to training and the body responds so well to adding new muscle and using fat for energy recomping is awesome. But, at your/our stage, I think you'd do better if you cut to the bf% you desire and then slowly add muscle over the years while staying at the low bf%. It's your call though :)
