Overall Goal: I want to lose these extra inches around my middle. I'm less concerned with my total weight, just want to lose the fat.
Fit Status:
Columbus, OH 1/2 Marathon in 3 weeks. I know, this is a body building site, but running is till fitness.

When I Started:
Jun, 2005
How I Started:
A local company offered to pay most of the YMCA membership costs for local Emergency Services Personnel. So I figured that was a good time to start working out.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because I am always surprising myself by surpassing what my I perceive my limits to be. I like to set goals and meet them.
How I Stay Motivated:
Hearing compliments from my wife keep me motivated. Hearing her talk to her friends about what she expects my results to be, whether those results are stronger arms or running in local races. That motivates me and gives me a feeling of accomplishment.
BB Accomplishments:
Okay, this is not technically body building, but it is exercise. On June 29, 2009, I completed a 4 mile run in under 40 minutes. Not bad considering that just two months prior I struggled to run an entire mile on a treadmill.

Wow, I am simply impressing myself here lately with the amount of running I have been doing and the weightloss that has gone along with it. Since I started running outside my endurance has tripled. I've gone from barely finishing a 1 mile jog on the treadmill to going 3.5 miles more than once...
Hi George, I noticed I was dropped from your friends list - not sure if this was accidental or intended. I hate to lose a friend. Please let me know how you'd like me to handle it. In either case, I wish you the best always! Jen
Thank you, thank you for the lovely compliment George! It is always a pleasure to hear from you - I have that orange suit pic you are talking about - I am sure I will post it again especially now after hearing you liked it- I hope you have a good weekend too!
Hi George! Thank you so much for the lovely compliment & the friendship invite. Best wishes to you for much success with your training. Please stop by anytime, I enjoy learning more about my new friends :)
