Overall Goal: Went out for a five mile run today. I am worn out. Long way to go if I'm gonna run a half marathon this spring, but I will get there!
Fit Status:
Missed the Columbus 1/2 Marathon. But am looking forward to the Capitol City Half Marathon in May!

When I Started:
Jun, 2005
How I Started:
A local company offered to pay most of the YMCA membership costs for local Emergency Services Personnel. So I figured that was a good time to start working out.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because I am always surprising myself by surpassing what my I perceive my limits to be. I like to set goals and meet them.
How I Stay Motivated:
Hearing compliments from my wife keep me motivated. Hearing her talk to her friends about what she expects my results to be, whether those results are stronger arms or running in local races. That motivates me and gives me a feeling of accomplishment.
BB Accomplishments:
Okay, this is not technically body building, but it is exercise. On June 29, 2009, I completed a 4 mile run in under 40 minutes. Not bad considering that just two months prior I struggled to run an entire mile on a treadmill.

Wow, I am simply impressing myself here lately with the amount of running I have been doing and the weightloss that has gone along with it. Since I started running outside my endurance has tripled. I've gone from barely finishing a 1 mile jog on the treadmill to going 3.5 miles more than once...
