Background

When I Started: Sep 2006
HOW I STARTED:

Did a little lifting in high school and then again in college. Got back into lifting to regain my figure, strength, and health.

WHY I LOVE IT:

1 - Reduction in number of migraines 2 - Better overall health 3 - Better appearance 4 - and a post-workout rush...

10 day challenge, 10 day smallenge

The 10 day challenge didn't go very well.  Training & diet all dialed down.  Total weight loss 0.5 pounds.  Whoopie.  I think maybe I accomplished some recompositioning but the entire affair was frustrating.  2 pounds over 10 days would have been tolerable.... Anyway, took a 2 day break from the gym.  I needed some mental space and time to think / plan about breaking through my current plateau. Plateaus suck. Today, I ate and napped and read a book.  Then I napped some more.  I haven't had a really nice down day with no chores or other outside things...

I've lost one pound in my 10 day challenge.  Probably more to do with that TOM rather than some real progress.  But as they say when there is a bet at stake, there are lies, damn lies, and statistics.  This loss is probably a statistic... Had a nice HIIT session with a triceps / shoulder workout. For some reason last year's dizziness episode is back again this week.  The dizzy was intermittently annoying today.  Feel it going from prone to upright and turning head to left.  Why left?  No idea.... Anyway, I'm still able to walk okay so I'm still hitting the gy...

10 day challenge

Well I'm kinda back.  I'm eating fairly well since Monday and working out safely & smartly.  Had a neck relapse but I've been doing my rehab work.  At the gym, I've had to tweak my sessions to hit as hard as I can given (1) the fact I've slacked off for too long and (2) my neck situation. The mates at the gym invited me to do a 10 challenge to see who can lose the most in 10 days.  I don't expect to win (wrong time of the month to see major improvements) but I can still try to lose 1-2 kilograms.  Nice to have some friendly encouragement and I plan on doing the cha...

danajanine I am not new to weightlifting, but I am new to working out HARD, because my new boyfriend (1 1/2 years) is a personal trainer! It's not easy to be lazy with him around.
