How I Started:
Arictle in M&F Hers - "So you want to compete?"
Why I Love It:
I'm a wife, mother(of 4), and I have a full-time job. I give so much of myself to others but when I'm in the gym it's all about me. It's my time to be selfish. Funny thing is, since I've taken this this time to be selfish I've become a better mother, a better wife, a better employee... you get the picture.
How I Stay Motivated:
You know, at this point it has become a habit, a way of life. If I miss a workout, I feel out of sync. Not quite myself. I'm unorganized and unfocused for a couple of days. I don't like that feeling, so even when I don't want to hit the gym, I still want to hit the gym.
BB Accomplishments:
competing in my first figure competition

Instead of taking the usual route of fad/ yo-yo diets I decided to do things the right way for my 15 year old daugh ...
This picture was taken on 7/27/08 almost 7 months after I started this journey. I am 153 lbs, a size 4/6 and a 14% bodyfat. I still have some work to do and I will continue to work on my physique but I feel great about myself and my health has never been better!!
So I was freaking out a little about being a little fluffy so I decided to go back to what I know as tried and true, CLEAN EATING! Not quite my competition diet but along those lines with the same concepts..fresh foods, fruits, veggies, good carbs and protein powder. I also stuck to my regular...
Not sure what you look like but I will keep an eye out for you keep focus'd and best of luck your friend industrialfreak "F*ck the beach muscles, bring on the freak muscles"
Looking great so far. I am sorry but I am not going to be there. We will have reps there and I will make sure they know to cheer you on. What class are you competing in?
You look stunning... perfect for figure. Enjoy every second of this journey and all that you've worked on for so long. Own the stage and exhibit all the confifence in the world. You deserve to win!!!
Thanks!! I've got a tool called SnagIt that let's me play around with the colors. ...
Ah I use that as well, I've just not seen the colors.. i'll have to play with that some.. BTW you really do look good in that picture..
