When I Started:
Sep, 2008
How I Started:
I looked in the mirror....
I graduated high school wieghing 175 lbs. My softmore year of college I wieghed in at 245lbs! One day I was talking to my roommate and I turned around and noticed I was looking at myself in a full length mirror. I was shocked and new changes needed to be made. I lost 45lbs that summer but of course stopped working out when I got back to school. I gained 20-30lbs back.
Eventually, after I graduated I realized this yo-yoing in wieght wasn't good for my heart and overall health. So I knew I no had the time and stable reutine of a daily job/schedule and needed to start losing again and keeping it off. That is where I am today...
Why I Love It:
I love it because I know how great it feels to get into a reutine. I have seen the other side and don't want to go back. I feel like I have endless amounts of energy now and am starting to feel better about myself.
How I Stay Motivated:
I continue to look in the mirror...
Also as I see progress I think that I want to do this to show others it can be done. Basically it motivates me to push on and be able to be others motivation one day.
BB Accomplishments:
My biggest accomplishment so far is being able to almost do 1 pushup. I know it sounds pretty dumb but in my left arm I have what is called "erbs palsy". When I was born the nerves were torn in 3 different places in my arm. For most of my life I had to make sure I continued to use it constantly. The doctors said that if I stopped "working it out" then I would lose almost all use of it. Growing up my goal has always been to complete atleast one pushup. Working out and pushing myself harder the past couple of months has got me alot closer to this goal!
Been having a rough go of it lately. Took about 2 months off and scared myself last week when I looked at the scale. I'm back on it, but have to make up a little ground again. Crazy how quick it sneaks back up on you. How are you doing?
Hope the job search goes good man. Ive been doing pretty good, workouts have been going good, less cardio than I would like, but seems like Im still making gains. Weights been consisntent, but Im down about 2 pants sizes. Just need to keep diet in check and I could make some better gains.
Dang Allen, what a bummer. It's getting tough all over man. I'd say use this extra time to really hit the weights and amp up your routine brutha. Plus it'll help relieve some of the stress. Good luck in finding employment. -As for me all is good, but yeah the gym keeps me from going postal most days. lol
Tearing it up again after being knocked down as well. Had a couple of rough weeks, stepped on the scale and about pissed myself. lol Longest break I've taken since I started. I'm back guns a blazin' though. Keep at it, and swing by the comp. thread and say high:-)
Congrats on the progress ... sounds great ... you can find the food list by going to bodyforlife.com and then scroll down the links on the right ... under "Nutrition" click the "Food List" link. Good luck with your goals -
Awesome, diet is cake... I end up having to eat more to meet my requirements and keep macros in line... And working out is rocking... Been doing two-a-days on cardio!... How about you?... How are things coming along?
Hey bro - thanks for the comment. Things are holding steady right now. After introducing the new stuff in the routine, my weight loss has sort of seemed to level off again, but my pants are getting more and more cinched up. So something is working. How are things with you? Contest going well?
Hey Allen, I'm good man. Dude, I was wondering WTF happened! I didn't get a chance to watch it but was surprised with the outcome for sure. Sadly I can totally relate being a WAHOO! You guys will lose much firepower so what does next year look like?
Mmm... Pizza!... I gonna do that Dave Columbo's diet deal, so gonna miss the pizza... Maybe I'll have some tonight... ;)... Happy New Years, and let's do this!... haha, later!
