I was a tom-boy growing up...and was very competitive junior high and high school athlete
(track/cross country/soccer). I needed to gain strength for the pole vault, started with a trainer, and was hooked on weights! Competed collegiately in pole vault and soccer, but always knew I wanted to compete. I remember training in the weight room in high school and carrying around muscle magazines, dreaming of someday being in one and looking like the beautiful female physique competitors.
My dream became a reality in 2005, when I began competing in NPC Figure and was very successful. I made it into Oxygen after my 2nd show!!! I was bridesmaid to that IFBB procard at the USA's to Amanda Savell.
I competed in numerous shows in 2006 and made a few more magazine appearances. Again, 2006 I was a bridesmaid to the IFBB Pro-card but this time at the North American to Kristal Richardson!!! Always a bridesmaid! :)
In 2007, I decided to do one more show to basically to go out on my own, and be onstage with my best look yet. I am no longer training to compete.
I now workout with the goal to be happy, healthy, balanced, and hopefully can help other women become more self-accepting of their bodies and appreciate all they have been given by the Lord. I want to become a better "me" and the best wife possible.
Why I Love It:
I used to exercise to look a certain way. Now I exercise to feel my heart get stronger or challenge myself in spin class or running workout. I workout to become a better "me."
How I Stay Motivated:
I have only been given 1 life to live, I want to live it to the fullest extent.
I want to be happy and healthy! This is definitely a journey.
BB Accomplishments:
2005 Boise Fitness expo 1st place
2005 Emerald Cup 3rd place
2005 NPC USA's Las Vegas 2nd place
2006 Treasure Valley Classic 1st place and Overall Figure Champion
2006 Emerald Cup 1st place
and 2nd place Overall
2006 IFBB North Americans 2nd place
2007 NPC North Star 1st place and Overall Figure Champion
I incline bench pressed 205 when I was 20 years old! Seriously!

I am only lifting 2 days per week now, but going to try to get in a 3rd with more lower body training now that I have more time 'til my next race. It's difficult to train legs when they are so broken down from running, if anyone has ideas as to what would be sufficient, let me know!
Hello RebeccaLynn, I just noticed I kind of sounded like a broken record on my last comment.LOL!! Just wanted to stop by and wish you a wonderful weekend!! ~Stay blessed
