When I Started:
Jun, 2008
How I Started:
I used to work out relatively hardcore when in the fire department. I recently returned to the States from overseas and was disgusted at how much weight I'd gained while abroad. That was really all it took.
Why I Love It:
Because this is my body, there are none like it and this one is mine. It's the only one I'll ever have and I'm nothing without it.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have no idea. Because this is my body, there are none like it....Just kidding. But seriously? I just want to do it for me. I won't let anyone else love my body so I guess that just leaves me.
BB Accomplishments:
Finishing the sets even when it hurts. That's not really major, but it's still an accomplishment.

What is your favorite "healthy" dessert? Give the recipe if applicable.
You're going to think I'm crazy, or lying...but I really don't do desserts. Occasionally, I'll lose it and just HAVE to have some chocolate covered Hostess donut gems, and yes....I'm fully aware of how not even tasty they are. I blame this on being a woman. However.....we were saying "healthy" desserts. Honestly? I love fruit, so any kind of fruit with perhaps a dab of sour cream sweetened with Splenda. Or some, and hear me out on this....sugar-free Jello (any flavour) mixed with low-fat,non-dairy coffee creamer then chilled makes a delightfully creamy and low low fat and totally carb-free dessert. Yeah....I totally make this stuff up.You're going to think I'm crazy, or lying...but I really don't do desserts. What are your secrets for making healthy food taste great?
I have 3 secrets. Garlic, onions, and salt. I DO use Sea salt, but I spare no pinches when it comes to garlic and onions. They belong in everything. Otherwise... I just experiment with herbs, spices, slat blends, pepper blends, actual peppers and other flavourful ingredients. Sometime you need add nothing at all.I have 3 secrets. Garlic, onions, and salt. Where do you find healthy recipes to try?
I usually don't...I've been a hobbyist Chef for years and I genuinely enjoy what I like to call "Kitchen Chemistry". But I hate to shop. So I'll take an inventory of what I have in the pantry and the fridge and then devise my own recipe on the spot. I haven't starved to death yet, so my success rate is much higher than my failure rate.I usually don't...I've been a hobbyist Chef for years and I genuinely enjoy what I like to call "Kitchen Chemistry". Okay...usually, my geekdom knows no boundaries...but I don't actually know what a "Blog" is. I think it's just something someone came up with to justify sharing their unasked-for opinions with thousands of people on the internet. If that is indeed the case...then I want to change...
