After 7 years of irregular workouts (due to post grad study) I lost a fair bit of strength. I am currently trying to get back to 8x315 on the bench press. Currently making good progress, up to 5x280. In the process though I am not worried about my weight as long as it doesn't go any higher (you can't drop 40 lb body weight at the same time you're adding 40 lb to your bench).
Scratch that. My weight just keeps going inexorably higher. Just hit 125 kg. Time to put the breaks on. My diet starts today 21 Aug 2008.
