Well I was an Army Ranger for 5 yrs got out in 02 let myself go as far as training. Then got into a bad car accident where I fractured my neck, AC seperation and screwed my knee up ballooned up to 280. Then got called out for a deployment to Kosovo. Arrived here in September and figured I might as well get back into shape. Now its a quest to get into bodywork shape then get to 240 of lean muscle. Now I am sitting at 225-230.
Why I Love It:
The feeling of accomplishment, the feeling after a helluva workout. Of course there are always the comments and acalades from other people. But mainly cause it feels damn good!
How I Stay Motivated:
In Ranger Battalion it was easy cause everything is a ferice competition. In the regular army all I need to do is look around at the out of shape people and think I dont want to look like him. Plus I keep a picture of me at 280lbs of flab as a reminder of what not to slip back into.
BB Accomplishments:
50lbs of fat in 5-6mths while on this deployment. Once I get back to the states is when the real training begins!!

Drop another 10-15lbs of fat before I get back to the US. Then put on lean muscle until I hit 240lbs.
Goal (Long):
I have been to the mountain top in the military as an Army Ranger. But it never allowed me to get really big I had to stay around 220 cause of all the running everyday usually 5-10 miles on average. Now I want to be lean at 240 and looking good then decide from there where to go and maybe start competing.
Well, I do a split training one day upper body Low Volume, Heavy Load next day lower body with same Low Volume, Heavy Load. Then the next upper and lower body days are High Volume, Medium Load
Heavy Load 6 sets of 4
Medium load 3 sets of 12
The reason is one day a week I am training my fast-fatigue and fast-fatigable muscle fibers with the heavy load explosive tempo. These fibers have the most potential for growth. Then on the medium load days I am working on the slow fatigable muscle fibers for tone and endurance. Best of both worlds? We will see what this plan yields!!!Well, I do a split training one day upper body Low Volume, Heavy Load next day lower body with same Low Volume, Heavy Load.
