When I was in the military years ago, a co-worker of mine thought I had decent calves & should get into bodybuilding. I thought he was crazy, but as I learned more about it & actually trained for a show, I loved it!
Why I Love It:
(1) It keeps me physically healthy.
(2) Competing gives me an opportunity to put my dance/choreography skills to use.
(3) I am a firm believer in practicing what I preach!
How I Stay Motivated:
(1) Through regular health check-ups: leading a healthy lifestyle keeps my blood pressure low, my cholesterol numbers in an excellent range, my body fat in a healthy % range, and my mind in a positive state!
(2) Helping others and monitoring their improved health also motivates me; many of the people I have worked with have at least 2-3 major risk factors for coronary heart disease & that, in and of itself, is motivating for me so that I can avoid those health problems.
(3) Having acquaintances, friends & family who are supportive keeps motivation high, too.
BB Accomplishments:
I have attained great contest placings, but winning the award for "Best Poser" at most of my shows means a lot to me as a dancer/choreographer!
The cool thing is that you still look like a woman. You know the ones where their faces become square and look like smiling robots. Continue to be strong and elegant. You do that very well. Because of that (and more), regardless of a contest outcome, you have already won.
