I started in my teens. I was always large but not particularly strong till I took the weightlifting class in high school in 10th grade. After becoming the strongest kid in the school, I lifted till I was 19 and then promptly stopped for 9 years! When I started up again in 1998, I was overweight, but quickly made progress. I lost over 50 pounds and went on improve my body and health over the years.
Why I Love It:
I like being healthy and feeling positive about myself.
How I Stay Motivated:
Its not easy. 2006 was a bad year for my working out wise. For 6-7 years I coasted, but now its harder to maintain focus. I'm currently trying to lose weight and get back into shape after a long layoff.
BB Accomplishments:
My best condition ever was in 2002. I was 223 pounds and 7% bodyfat. That same year I competed in a gym ab contest. 2003 was another good year for me condition wise. I've had no other contest experience. I've since dabbled in some powerlifting.

Modern bodybuilding is ritual, religion, sport, art, and science, awash in Western chemistry and mathematics. Defying nature, it surpasses it.
