How I Started:
Long story short, was a dancer in high school, did Arena Football cheer leading/dance in my early 20's. After becoming a mother I still wanted to be physically fit and active. Dance studios don't have childcare so I joined the gym. The rest is history.
Why I Love It:
It gives me a sense of empowerment, control, and relief. The way my eating disorder use to in the past. However, I feel even better now because unlike what I did in the past this is something that is GOOD for me!
How I Stay Motivated:
This website and the people on it! Seeing not only results in the mirror but how I feel.

I'm starting to entertain the idea of competing. I know I have a TON of work ahead of me, but hopefully I can tone up and be stage ready in the next 12-18 months.
I like her "no excuse" attitude, especially about genetic dispositions. I have a genetic disposition and I am refusing to just accept it thanks to Jencan!

She was friends with a girl who worked at my gym , so it helps to connect with ppl :-) Get yourself out there and tell ppl what you're doing. How long have you been lifting? I started June 2008 (when I went to my first NPC show as spectator). I promised to be on a stage a year later. But I worked with a trainer for the first few months b/c I was a cardio bunny before and I needed to learn the basics. Safety first lady ;-) Form over ego. Then, you build up! There are lots of suit sellers out there, i bought mine from Shonna (suits by shonna) She worked closely with me , even on a time crunch! Also, for workouts, I started prepping (cutting) 18 weeks out. You have a trainer?

so,the joints are swollen? sounds easier to take the tablets than have an injection! weekend was very good,legs on sat,was good but didnt do 100% of what i wanted! nausea took over! enjoy your spin classes jill and take care of yer back.
